Mercy Sparx, Circuits-Seduction-Revenge Get New Ongoing Series this October from Devil’s Due

Devil’s Due has announced two new upcoming series – Mercy Sparx: Heaven’s Devil and Circuits-Seduction-Revenge.

Following the success of the busiest Mercy Sparx publishing schedule in several years, Heaven’s secret “fixer” returns in Mercy Sparx: Heaven’s Devil this October. An all new quarterly series written by Josh Blaylock, with art by Blaylock and Brian Rogers, and colors by Eisner Award Winners Greg + Fake. The series continues from the events of the sell-out hit “Daddy Issues” miniseries and spin-off success Club Nephilim.

This continues to be an excellent series, and this issue combines some history with the action and demonic aspects we have come to expect.

There is still the mystery as to why this is all happening, but the secret world and arrangements made by those above and below are interesting and make a gripping story.

I love the art, and the combination of the more human elements along with the demonic and supernatural aspects is excellent and has some brilliant colouring.

This will be a series that I think I will pick up as a trade so I can re-read it in one hit!

Vampirella's Epic Eighth Archive Coming

From Dynamite Comics is a new collection with Vampirella Archives Volume Eight.

Dynamite Entertainment invites fans to bite into another big batch of classic tales of the Daughter of Drakulon, with the announcement of the upcoming epic eighth volume of the Vampirella Archives in paperback.


The next edition includes issues #50-56 from the original Vampirella magazine series, as released originally by Warren Publishing. These stories were originally released from spring through winter of 1976.

Each of the exhilarating eight volumes so far can be read and enjoyed in any order, compiling a large slice of tales featuring the titular vampiress as well as a range of anthology yarns from horror, science fiction, fantasy, and other genres. This book rounds out to well over 300 pulse-pounding pages featuring gorgeous artwork across the board in the classic Warren tradition.

The seventh volume featured the start of writer Bill DuBay's tenure as the primary architect of Vampi's ongoing adventures, with a mix of Jose Gonzalez, Gonzalo Mayo, Esteban Maroto, and others, plus a retold origin story.

Everything kicks off in this new volume with the nearly full-length crossover issue #50, with a 40-page epic encompassing Vampirella, Pantha, Fleur and even a special cameo by an icon of comics. This chunk also features some Vampirella stories by writer Gerry Boudreau.

A new horror series is coming in October 2026 from Mad Cave Studios. Hammer Head #1 begins a new terror for a lone survivor!

Terror can’t be contained, and Mad Cave Studios resurrects one of horror’s deadliest nightmares with HAMMER HEAD, the brutal new five-issue series from acclaimed collaborators, writer Ed Brisson (Predator, Ghost Rider) and artist Damian Couceiro (Wolverine & Kitty Pryde, X-Force), with colors by Dee Cunniffe and letters by Patrick Brosseau.

For 20 years, Jules has been hiding from her past. As the only survivor of the Hammer Head killing spree, she carries the guilt and trauma of having watched as everyone she loved was brutally murdered. This was another fantastic issue, and for me it delivered everything I was hoping for after the previous instalment. It wastes no time getting started either, immediately addressing the cliffhanger from the last issue in a satisfying way. Rather than dragging things out, the creative team throws us straight back into the action, setting the tone for another fast-paced chapter while also strengthening the central partnership that has become the heart of the series.

The relationship between Edimmu and Josephine continues to be one of the comic’s greatest strengths. On paper, a demon and a nun should never be able to work together, yet that’s exactly what makes their dynamic so compelling. They approach every situation from completely different perspectives, with their beliefs, morals and instincts often clashing. However, necessity forces them to find common ground, and watching the reluctant trust between them slowly develop is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the book. Neither is willing to completely abandon what they stand for, but both are beginning to understand that survival depends on compromise.

Alongside the action, we are treated to a fascinating glimpse into the history of this world. The mythology surrounding the Church, Hell and the ancient bargains that have kept everything in balance adds another intriguing layer to the story. It feels like the series is steadily revealing a much larger picture, one that stretches back far beyond the events of the current plot. What I particularly liked was the uncertainty surrounding the information we’re being given. Much of it comes from a demon’s point of view, and that naturally raises questions over how much of it can actually be trusted. Is this the complete truth, a carefully selected version of events, or an outright lie? That ambiguity makes the lore even more engaging and leaves you constantly questioning what is really happening behind the scenes.

The pacing throughout the issue is excellent. It moves quickly without ever feeling rushed, balancing exposition, character development and action extremely well. Edimmu gets plenty of opportunities to demonstrate exactly why he is such a dangerous force, with several energetic action sequences that are full of movement and impact. At the same time, the issue never forgets Josephine. Rather than simply reacting to events around her, she continues to grow into a capable and determined lead in her own right. As the mystery deepens and she uncovers more evidence of the conspiracy surrounding them, her resolve only becomes stronger. By the end of the issue, it feels very much like this is her journey as much as Edimmu’s.

The discoveries made throughout the story also raise the stakes considerably. Each revelation peels back another layer of the conspiracy, showing that the corruption reaches much further than first imagined. The introduction of another demon only adds to the sense that there are far greater powers at work, and it becomes increasingly clear that Edimmu and Josephine have stumbled into something that neither of them fully understands. Every answer seems to generate even more questions, making it difficult to predict where the story will head next.

The artwork deserves just as much praise as the writing. It effortlessly shifts between present-day events, flashbacks and explosive supernatural battles without ever becoming confusing. The action scenes are packed with energy, while quieter moments still carry plenty of emotion through the characters’ expressions and body language. The demon designs are particularly memorable, each looking distinctive and unsettling in their own way rather than blending together. The colour palette also plays a huge part in establishing the atmosphere, with vivid supernatural effects contrasting beautifully against the darker, more grounded settings.

Overall, this issue does an excellent job of pushing the story forwards while continuing to build the world around its characters. The conspiracy becomes more complex, the mythology grows richer and the partnership between Edimmu and Josephine becomes even more compelling. With so many powerful forces now working against them, the odds are clearly stacked against the pair. That only makes me more eager to see where the series goes next and how, if at all, they’re going to find a way out of the impossible situation they’ve found themselves in.

A dark Stickleback tale, with a great setup and a clever method of going through the story. I like the way it is set up, and there are some nice touches. The art style meshes well with the story and ghostly images.

These tales of young Death have a thread running through them, but they work well as one-shot stories too. I like the setup and the way this plays out. Perfect for the character.

A classic Future Shock story, and there are some brilliant parts of the setup. I liked the style of the art, and the daughter aspect gave me a wry smile.

An enjoyable SD story with some gunplay, mutants and the royal family! A funny/sad ending, and it works out well.

Some good stories for the whole and something for casual readers to pick up!

Reaching 300 issues is a huge achievement for any comic series, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #20 celebrates that milestone by looking firmly towards the future rather than dwelling on the past. It feels like the opening chapter of a major new era, bringing together plot threads that have been carefully building over recent story arcs and finally allowing them to collide. There is a genuine sense that the decisions made by various characters are no longer isolated incidents but have become part of something much larger, with consequences that will affect everyone involved.

The central threat revolves around death itself—or more accurately, the absence of it. Characters returning from the dead immediately raise the stakes because the rules of the world begin to change. What initially seems like another supernatural twist quickly develops into something much more unsettling, suggesting that life, death and everything in between may no longer function as they once did. It creates an atmosphere of uncertainty, as neither the heroes nor the reader can be entirely sure what is possible anymore.

The mystical side of the TMNT universe has become increasingly important over the past several story arcs, and this issue continues to build upon that mythology in an engaging way. Rather than feeling out of place, the supernatural elements have become woven into the series’ identity, adding another layer to the familiar mix of martial arts, family dynamics and street-level action. The mythology behind these events is intriguing, and it feels like there is still plenty more to discover as the story progresses.

One of the strengths of this issue is how naturally it balances its large cast. Alongside Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael, we also get meaningful appearances from Splinter, Shredder, Baxter Stockman and Casey Jones. Everyone has a role to play, and it never feels as though characters have simply been included for the sake of a landmark issue. Instead, each appearance reinforces the idea that the coming conflict will involve every corner of the TMNT universe.

There is plenty of action throughout, but it never overshadows the emotional core of the story. The family relationships remain at the heart of everything, while the magical elements and looming villains add tension and unpredictability. The issue strikes a satisfying balance between explosive confrontations and quieter moments that remind us why these characters have remained so popular over so many years.

Readers who picked up the recent Shredder one-shot will already have suspected that he would play a significant part in what comes next. His arrival raises plenty of questions about his loyalties and intentions. Will he become an uneasy ally, pursue his own agenda, or find himself in direct conflict with both Splinter and the evolving Foot Clan? His history with every major character means that wherever he stands, it is certain to have major consequences for the story moving forward.

Visually, the issue is equally impressive. The artwork captures both sides of the series exceptionally well, shifting effortlessly between gritty street-level settings and the increasingly mystical scenes. The action is dynamic, the quieter character moments carry real emotion, and the supernatural sequences have an appropriately eerie quality that enhances the unfolding mystery.

Overall, this is exactly what a landmark issue should be. Rather than simply celebrating the past, it uses the milestone as the launchpad for an ambitious new storyline packed with mystery, mythology, action and character development. Long-time readers will appreciate the payoff to recent storylines while also finding plenty of reasons to be excited about where the series is heading next. It feels like the beginning of something truly significant, and I cannot wait to see how these ideas develop over the coming issues.

A welcome return to the skulduggery at Starfleet! The first Red Shirts series was one of those books that took a familiar concept from the Star Trek universe and completely turned it on its head, finishing with a twist that changed everything. Ghosts of the 21st Century picks up from those events and immediately shows that there is plenty more to explore. Rather than simply revisiting the same ideas, this new story builds upon them, expanding the conspiracy while maintaining the dark sense of humour that made the original series so enjoyable.

The time jump works particularly well because it allows us to see just how much has changed since the previous story. Our former spy has evolved considerably, becoming far more established and dangerous than before. What was once a covert operation has now developed into a criminal enterprise that reaches much further than expected. It is fascinating to see how his influence has grown and how easily he manipulates those around him, all while the ordinary Red Shirts remain completely unaware that they are little more than expendable assets.

That idea of Red Shirts being treated as disposable has always been part of Star Trek folklore, but this series pushes the joke into much darker territory. Instead of simply being unlucky crew members who meet unfortunate ends during away missions, they are actively being used as cannon fodder for someone else’s gain. It is a clever spin on one of the franchise’s longest-running jokes, making the danger feel far more sinister while still embracing the tongue-in-cheek nature of the premise.

The opening issue wastes very little time in demonstrating exactly how ruthless this world has become. A deal quickly falls apart, leading to a violent confrontation that leaves bodies scattered everywhere. The deaths are graphic enough to remind you that nobody is safe, yet there is still an underlying sense of black comedy to many of them that fits perfectly with the tone of the series. It manages to balance brutality with humour in a way that never feels forced.

With Deubert emerging as the last Red Shirt left standing, the story takes another interesting turn. What follows is more than just a simple confrontation, as the situation rapidly spirals beyond anyone’s control. Every decision seems to make matters worse, increasing both the tension and the mystery surrounding the larger conspiracy. By the time the issue reaches its conclusion, another well-executed twist changes the direction of the story once again and leaves plenty of questions to be answered. It is exactly the sort of ending that makes you eager to pick up the next instalment.

The artwork deserves plenty of praise as well. The space sequences look fantastic, with the ships and technology capturing the classic Star Trek aesthetic while still giving the series its own visual identity. The planetside scenes are equally detailed, helping to establish the locations without ever slowing the pacing. Even the over-the-top deaths of the unfortunate Red Shirts are illustrated with an almost comedic flair, reinforcing the book’s unique balance between humour and violence.

Overall, this is a very strong opening to the new story arc. It successfully builds upon everything established in the previous series while introducing new mysteries, raising the stakes and reminding readers that absolutely no Red Shirt should feel safe. It captures the spirit of Star Trek without being tied down by traditional storytelling expectations, instead delivering a darker, more irreverent adventure full of conspiracies, action and unexpected twists. If the rest of the series maintains this standard, it looks set to be another outstanding addition to IDW’s Star Trek line.

Where do you even start with a book like this?

I review all types of comics, and while some are clearly aimed at younger readers, that doesn’t automatically mean they’re outside my sense of humour. Where’s the Poo? – A Comic Book Story: Poos on the Loose is a perfect example of that. It embraces its silly premise from the very first page and never apologises for it, resulting in a genuinely entertaining read that had me smiling throughout.

Although younger readers are undoubtedly the target audience, there is plenty here for older readers who appreciate a bit of daft humour. Yes, the story revolves around sentient poos, but beyond the toilet jokes is a surprisingly enjoyable adventure packed with colourful characters, amusing situations and interactive puzzles that help break up the story.

The book starts by introducing us to the various poo characters, each with their own little personalities and quirks. Alongside them is a narration box that constantly chips in with extra information, observations and jokes, giving the whole book an extra layer of humour. Running through everything is the quest to find the legendary magical unicorn poo. It’s a deliberately flimsy excuse to send the characters off on all sorts of bizarre adventures, but that’s part of the charm. It gives the book enough of a narrative thread while still allowing it to jump from one ridiculous scenario to the next.

What I particularly liked was how the story is structured. Rather than one continuous adventure, there are numerous smaller stories and diversions that naturally flow into one another. That makes it incredibly easy to put the book down and come back to later without feeling like you’ve lost your place. Combined with the puzzles dotted throughout, it creates a nice rhythm that keeps younger readers engaged without ever becoming repetitive.

Of course, every adventure needs a villain, and in this case it’s not the occasionally intimidating Duckie, as you might first suspect. Instead, the main antagonist is a toilet roll that believes all of this poo-related nonsense should be stopped. It’s an amusing concept that works surprisingly well, providing a constant obstacle for the heroes while sending the story spiralling across time, space and even the multiverse before everything builds towards the wonderfully over-the-top ‘big poo’ threat.

The artwork perfectly matches the tone of the book. It’s bright, colourful and full of energy, with every type of poo imaginable given its own distinct appearance and personality. The different locations, visual effects and imaginative settings help keep each section feeling fresh, while there are plenty of clever visual jokes tucked away in the backgrounds. The puzzles are also well integrated into the artwork rather than feeling like separate activities, encouraging readers to spend a little longer examining each page.

Overall, Where’s the Poo? – A Comic Book Story: Poos on the Loose is a funny, entertaining and surprisingly inventive comic that fully commits to its wonderfully ridiculous premise. There’s always something happening, whether it’s another joke, another puzzle or another absurd twist in the adventure, and its episodic nature makes it incredibly easy to jump into whenever you have a few spare minutes. If you’re prepared to embrace its toilet humour, you’ll find a charming, colourful and thoroughly enjoyable read underneath all the poo-related madness.

The Terminator Sets Its Sights on Riverdale High

Archie has crossed over with many interesting characters, and now there is something new in Archie Vs. The Terminator from Archie Comics and Dynamite Comics.

Riverdale better watch out, because all manner of chaos is about to kick off when a teenage John Connor enrolls at the local high school, as Dynamite Entertainment, Archie Comics, and STUDIOCANAL present Archie vs. The Terminator starting this fall as a new 5-issue comic book miniseries!

The crossover no one saw coming is here! Archie and the gang have crossed paths with so many icons over their 85 years of history, while The Terminator has set its sights on all manner of victims. This fun-filled mashup is coming in hot for fans starting this October with the historic first meeting of pop culture powerhouses. Who will survive to tell the tale?

Writer Rory McConville continues his critically acclaimed tales of The Terminator here in unexpected fashion, following his series The Terminator: Metal. The star scribe of Spawn and Red Sonja brings the eye for action and science fiction twists to this fabled meeting.

"Archie crossovers hold a very special place in comics, so I'm thrilled to be writing the gang's first (maybe last?!) encounter with The Terminator," said writer Rory McConville. "Enrolling John Connor at Riverdale High felt like the perfect way to bring these two iconic franchises together and I can't wait for readers to see what we have in store."

Tackling the pulse-pounding pages inside the book is a heartwarming duo of Steven and Lily Butler. Longtime comics fans will know Butler for his beloved tenure on Spider-Man titles in the 1990s. His bibliography with Archie is deep, especially contributing to their Sonic the Hedgehog titles for years. In 1999 that same series publicly announced the birth of his daughter Lily. Now years later, the father and daughter duo are frequent artistic collaborators and in this series are set to balance the iconic house style of Riverdale with the threatening metal visage of The Terminator!

"When I got the invite to draw the Archie vs. The Terminator mini-series, I was deeply honored and excited at the same time," said artist Steven Butler. "I’ve always loved most the Archie stories that put the gang into some sort of overwhelming peril that they had to try to get themselves out of and now this mini-series gives us the opportunity to tell that kind of story I love so much! The icing on the cake is the fact that I get to work with my daughter Lily on this project — what more could a proud dad want?"

"This story marks my first time working for Dynamite, and working on a full miniseries," added artist Lily Butler. "I’m super excited to be working on characters that I’m very familiar with like the Archie crew and other characters that are new to me. Vampirella Enters the Realm of Pathfinder in New Series

I am really enjoying this run of Fantastic Four so far. I’d say this is the longest I’ve read in this series. I love the feeling of family working on the stories, and the team really captured the relationships in the Baxter Building.

The kids are the powerful ones here. There is a clever twist to the story which made me go back to fully appreciate the story and the twist in the tale.

This goes well with the art and the style of the story. Some sublime storytelling!

Centaur Riders: Cataphract Legacy is a dark fantasy epic created by Danny Potter, written by award-winning filmmaker and storyteller Charlie Brafman, and illustrated by artist and concept designer Marco Turini. Set in Ashvaren, a richly imagined world of centaurs, minotaurs, druids, prophecy, and ancient empires, the story follows Artemis—the last centaur—as he embarks on a perilous journey to uncover the truth about his origins and the fate of a people believed lost to history.

For Potter, bringing Centaur Riders to life was as much about the people behind the project as it was the world itself.

Sleepy Hollow: The Witches Of The Western Wood #3

As Sarah Archer sees Mary grow close to the residents of Sleepy Hollow—the very ones who turned their backs on her family in their time of need—she becomes viciously jealous and resorts to stalking her twin, sullying Mary’s good name. Sarah will stop at nothing to protect her sister, even if it means seducing the objects of Mary’s eye.

The tension between the two sisters reaches a whole new level in this issue, and it is fascinating to watch their relationship slowly unravel. From the very beginning, it has been clear that Mary and Sarah have different outlooks on both magic and the people around them, but here those differences become impossible to ignore. Mary continues to show compassion, wanting to help those around her and build genuine connections, while Sarah becomes increasingly consumed by anger, revenge and the lure of darker powers.

As Mary settles further into life with the townsfolk, she begins to carve out her own path, finding acceptance and friendship beyond the bond she shares with her sister. Sarah, however, sees every step Mary takes away from her as a betrayal. Rather than trying to understand her sister’s choices, she becomes increasingly suspicious, spying on her movements and immersing herself ever deeper in the sinister magic contained within the mysterious book. It is a gradual descent, but one that feels completely believable, as every poor decision only pushes Sarah further away from the person she once was.

The emotional conflict is what really drives the issue. Mary’s growing relationship with one of the townsfolk only widens the divide between the sisters, creating a situation where Sarah feels isolated and lashes out in the worst possible way. Her attempt to teach Mary a lesson ends up backfiring spectacularly, and although Sarah certainly learns something from the experience, it is far from the lesson she actually needs. Instead of reflecting on her actions, she seems to take away exactly the wrong message, making it feel as though the darkness already has a firm hold over her. By the end of the issue, it is difficult to see how the sisters can repair the damage that has been done.

The artwork continues to be one of the series’ greatest strengths. It beautifully reflects the contrasting personalities of the sisters, using both the line work and colour palette to reinforce the themes running through the story. Mary’s scenes often feel warmer and more inviting, while Sarah’s descent into darker magic is accompanied by moodier colours and unsettling imagery that perfectly capture the corruption beginning to consume her. The visual storytelling adds just as much to the atmosphere as the dialogue itself.

Overall, this is another excellent chapter that steadily raises both the emotional and supernatural stakes. The relationships feel authentic, the horror elements continue to build naturally, and every page leaves you with the feeling that something terrible is just around the corner. With the sisters now seemingly on completely different paths, the series ends this issue with a genuine sense of dread, leaving me eager—and slightly anxious—to see just how much worse things are going to become.

The conclusion of this series and introduction to me for the Smile1 entity give us an entertaining and well-plotted finish.

After everything Ivy has endured over the course of the series, this final issue leaves her as the last one standing. Following the gruesome fates of the other models, she is no longer simply trying to survive—she is determined to fight back. The discoveries she made in the previous issues finally pay off here, with the various threads coming together in a satisfying conclusion. It feels like the story has been building towards this confrontation from the very beginning, and the payoff doesn’t disappoint.

One of the aspects I enjoyed most is the uncertainty surrounding the true nature of the threat. Throughout the series, there has been an attempt to explain what is happening in terms of a disease, infection or parasite, something that can be understood through logic and science. However, the deeper the story goes, the clearer it becomes that this entity operates by its own rules. There is a genuinely supernatural element at play, meaning the usual explanations don’t quite fit. That ambiguity adds to the horror, as both the characters and the reader are never entirely sure what they’re dealing with or whether it can truly be defeated.

Despite facing something seemingly beyond human understanding, Ivy refuses to give in. She manages to achieve a measure of revenge, even if it doesn’t come without significant personal cost. The contrast between what appears to be success within the modelling industry and the emotional damage left behind makes for an effective ending. Even when victories are won, the trauma remains, and the issue doesn’t shy away from showing that some scars cannot simply be erased.

There are also some clever psychological moments woven throughout the story. The comic constantly plays with perception, leaving you questioning what is real and what may simply be another manipulation by the entity. I really appreciated how these moments were translated onto the page, using the strengths of the comic medium to blur the line between reality and nightmare. The layouts, expressions and pacing all contribute to the unsettling atmosphere, making the psychological horror just as effective as the more graphic moments.

The artwork deserves plenty of praise as well. It captures the grotesque nature of the supernatural entity with some genuinely disturbing imagery, while at the same time highlighting the darker side of the fashion industry itself. The glamour and beauty expected from that world are contrasted with fear, exploitation and body horror, reinforcing the themes that have run throughout the entire series. The horror isn’t confined to the monster alone—it’s equally present in the environment surrounding the characters.

The supporting cast also receives some satisfying conclusions. Not every ending is a happy one, but the story provides enough closure that the journeys of the various characters feel complete, giving weight to everything that has happened over the previous issues.

Overall, Smile: For the Camera has been an excellent horror series from beginning to end. It successfully combines supernatural terror, psychological horror and social commentary into a story that remains unsettling throughout. This final issue wraps up Ivy’s story in a satisfying way while still leaving the door open for more tales set within the world of Smile. With more comics already on the horizon, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where this disturbing universe goes next.

There’s nothing like witnessing an act of inspiration, a moment of creation, to remind us we’re alive.

For the last several years, at 3w3m.com, we’ve been engaging in an experiment.

Traditionally, world-building was something creators did one of two ways: the first being in seclusion, whittling away at their desks, filling notebooks full of details before settling on a story, and using that story as the means to deliver that already-constructed world to the audience.

The other way is to use the story itself as a sort of fungible document, building the world through its pages concurrently, adding detail as it demands.

There are pluses and minuses to both approaches, but we wanted to invert them entirely.

What if we took the world-as-precursor-to-story approach and married it to the make-it-up-as-you-go delivery method?

What if we let the audience in as we built a new universe from the ground up—starting from a kernel of an idea and expanding outward from there, letting them see the trial and error, eliciting their feedback, and growing a community around the act of creation itself?

So, that’s what we did. The results have been pretty exhilarating. The books coming your way over the next year are the direct outcome of that experiment. Our intention for this initial wave of titles is to catch you up to all that we’ve developed there so far, because we want as many people to be a part of this as possible. We’re thrilled to partner with Dark Horse to make these works available via your favorite comic book retailer or bookstore.

What began with a few disparate ideas grew, in front of thousands of witnesses and participants, into a sprawling, richly realized new universe. We have hundreds of pages’ worth of lore, backstories, maps, and concept art, packaged beautifully into deluxe graphic novel sourcebooks, taking those formative notions and developing them into short stories featuring some of the brightest artistic talents in comics.

We have trial efforts in form and format itself, taking a digital micro-story and repurposing it as a tribute to the sci-fi serials of yesteryear’s golden age. We invited some of our favorite creative teams to take our ideas and run with them. We have invitations for you to step broadly into the new universe yourself while being given a guided tour of all its rich settings.

And from all of it, the beginnings of the story to come. In Foundations, the adventure of Tajo Vallar begins. In a solar system trapped in warring cycles of order and chaos, magic and science, his doomed mission to a dead moon—and what happens to the family he left behind—sets the stage for the grand conflict to come.

This is where everything starts. Let’s see where it goes now.
