In The Beginning
We’re past ‘Blue Monday’, and hopefully, we are all doing well and getting back in the swing. The weather in the UK has taken a colder turn recently, and I seem to be getting a cold ‘mouse hand’ - does anyone else get this? I am thinking about getting a heated mouse…
I returned to the saga that is the awol Kickstarter project Tales From The Quarantine recently…
According to an update, I may or may not get my softcover collection by the middle of February (2023?). We shall see what the future brings! The main disappointment is that this was for charity, with no word on those donations and the number of talented creators who spent their time submitting stories.
Comic News
The Image Comics imprint Shadowline has announced a new mini-series. Dead Romans looks fascinating, and I am looking forward to reading it. I enjoyed Three by Kieron Gillan and Aquila from the pages of 2000 AD.
Some sad news from ComiXology with a large round of redundancies by their parent company Amazon. It appears that the team on the digital comics side has been gutted. Where this leaves the app and books is anyone's guess…
Mad Cave Studios has released two new issues this last couple of weeks - Dahlia in the Dark #2 and Nature's Labyrinth #3 are out now.
They have also teamed up with Papercutz to bring us the news on a new book coming this summer with YAHGZ: The Craynobi Tales.
Adding to their Female Force series, TidalWave Comics has released a new bio comic. Brittney Griner is featured in this latest issue.
IDW Publishing has news of a new Rocketeer one-shot story with Adam Hughes, Jae Lee, Gabriel Rodríguez, Phil Noto and more on board. In May 2023, there is a new addition to the TMNT: The Last Ronin, with a special issue called The Lost Day.
Archie Comics returns with a new horror one-shot called Chilling Adventures Presents... The Cult Of That Wilkin Boy. They are really ramping up the horror with some good one-shot stories.
Rebellion has released details of several of their upcoming titles, including Judge Dredd, 2000 AD and Hawk The Slayer.
Kodansha has a new manga out in February - check out the details on My Home Hero.
Geek-Girl and Cabra Cini are returning in 2023 with some teases on what to expect and how you can get them.
Round-Up
I’m considering reconsidering how I read digital comics after the news about ComiXology. I still get a lot digitally from them on the Amazon store.
I am thinking of more from DriveThruComics for downloads and other smaller publishers on GlobalComix. I have a Marvel Unlimited and DC Infinite account, so I can read those as long as I don’t mind waiting. However, that will need some advance planning.
The only issue with this is that the likes of Titan, Dynamite and Image are still heavily linked to ComiXology - so there will be some.
When things have calmed down, I will make a decision - although if GlobalComix releases an app as well, that will shake things up a lot!
Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding website Zoop has released details on what they have coming up for the platform. With Pink Midnight Presents: The Butterfly House, Odds & Ends, Books I & II, Sex, Spies & Rock ‘n Roll Vol. 3 and Gilgamesh: Eternal #1-2.

Reviews
With the second part soon winging its way in the post, I had a chance to review the second part of Harker: The Black Hound from Time Bomb Comics. It is an excellent read and will be gleefully added to my collection.
The turtles get a lot recently from IDW Publishing, with an issue from the main series, a spinoff and something from the future.

Review - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin - The Lost Years #1
Two progs of the weekly 2000 AD from Rebellion. There is a good mix of stories and a good one-shot horror.
Three new titles from Zenescope Entertainment, with Belle joining adventures in Wonderland and the ongoing series of Grimm Fairy Tales.
From Image Comics, there is a wide selection from the mind of Mark Millar, with Night Club, The Magic Order and American Jesus. These are all in different places with one continuing, one ending and a new arc beginning.
And from Vault Comics is a double dip of horror, with Nightfall: Double Feature and West Of Sundown
