A new upcoming comic from EarthGang, blending afrofuturism, a Tokyo setting, music bridging worlds, and an AI threat in Wheel Of Fate.
What starts as a search for a new sound quickly turns into something they can’t control. EarthGang
Known for a genre-fluid sound and sharp lyricism that continues to push hip-hop beyond its expected edges, ARIA Music Award-winning and Grammy-nominated hip-hop duo has built a dedicated following through projects like Mirrorland and Ghetto Gods, blending Southern roots with forward-thinking production and a creative vision that moves across mediums.Zero Zero Entertainment, EARTHGANG—WHEEL OF FATE
Just dropped from introduces the duo’s first comic project, expanding their world into a story-driven release supported by an exclusive merchandise drop. The result is a fully realized extension of their work, moving between music, image, and something less defined.Written by EarthGang (Olu & WowGr8) and brought to life by artists Julianne Grieppe and Alex Heywood, EarthGang—Wheel of Fate moves like a record in flux, drifting between street-level movement and mounting cosmic pressure, where rhythm shapes the story and perception is never fixed.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Olu kept it simple: “Man, this is the greatest animation storytelling we’ve been a part of!”
Their work continues to evolve beyond music, building interconnected worlds that carry the same depth, intention, and unpredictability across everything.

Run it back, here’s the story:
In Tokyo, EARTHGANG arrives chasing inspiration, recording inside a centuries-old temple where the music starts to shift, pulling from something ancient and unfamiliar. As reality begins to fracture and a shared vision reveals that the cosmic Wheel of Fate is under attack, they learn the threat is something born from the digital world itself, a sentient AI built from humanity’s worst impulses. Moving between hidden shrines and high-tech systems, they discover their music can bridge worlds, leading to a final ritual performance that disrupts the force feeding on human attention. When the noise settles and the world resets, one question lingers: Did anything actually change, or is the cycle already starting again?
EarthGang—Wheel of Fate combines Afrofuturist world-building with reality-bending stakes and a visual language designed to stand out on any shelf. Built directly from EarthGang’s creative vision, the project taps into the growing appetite for music-adjacent comics, extending the experience beyond the page through an exclusive limited merch drop.
The drop rolls out across multiple tiers, from Issue #1 bundled with a patch and pin to a signed variant cover limited to 500 copies, and a premium vinyl variant bundle capped at 150. A discounted 4-issue subscription will also be available for those looking to follow the full series.
EarthGang is an American hip-hop duo from Atlanta, Georgia, composed of Olu and WowGr8. They are co-founders of the musical collective Spillage Village, with JID, Hollywood JB, JordxnBryant, 6lack, Mereba, and Benji. Forty years later, the Star League rises again!
A classic movie, and now we get to see what comes next as Mad Cave Studios announces a follow-up to The Last Starfighter.
More than 40 years later, Mad Cave Studios brings THE LAST STARFIGHTER back with a long-awaited continuation of the cult classic. The 1984 sci-fi adventure film, directed by Nick Castle (The Boy Who Could Fly, Major Payne) and written by Jonathan Betuel (My Science Project, Theodore Rex), expanded the boundaries of visual effects and became a defining touchstone for a generation raised on arcades and imagination.
Jonathan Betuel shared his excitement about returning to the world of The Last Starfighter: “Chronicling and expanding the ‘Heart Over Hardware’ adventures of a trailer park hayseed as he saves the whales, the universe, and those he loves with Mad Cave’s talented team has been a blast!”
In collaboration with Betuel and producer Paul Davidson, writers Benjamin Raab and Deric A. Hughes (Syfy’s WAREHOUSE 13, The CW’s Arrow, NBC’s Quantum Leap) join forces with artist Willi Roberts (Witchblade, The Thing on the Doorstep), colorist Francesco Segala (Dawnrunner, Nights, 2000 A.D., G.I. Joe), and Ashcan Award-winning letterer Rob Jones, with covers for issue #1 by Taurin Clarke (Bitter Root), Rahzzah (Harley Quinn), David LaFuente (Spider-Man), and Stephanie Hans (Die), for a thrilling and heartfelt journey through a newly expanded universe.

Small-town teenager Alex Rogan has already saved multiple worlds. But that was only the beginning of his story. Forty years after the cult-classic movie that pioneered CGI and inspired generations of fans, an all-new story picks up from the end credits and takes off for the stars! Now the leader…and sole member…of the Star League, Alex must rebuild the galaxy’s only defense force against Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada. Introducing a new cast of Starfighters alongside fan-favorite faces—and new killers and cutthroats in the shadowy employ of the Ko-Dan—The Last Starfighter #1 launches a sci-fi legacy to new heights!
Benjamin Raab reflected on the legacy of the original film and what it meant to step into that world—
“Back in the ‘80s, The Last Starfighter was the ultimate fantasy for every kid who grew up playing arcade games. Each quarter we fed into those machines was a ticket to a galaxy where we got to be the heroes of our own stories. It was the kind of wish-fulfillment that children of all ages can still relate to today. As a lifelong fan of the movie, I’m honored to be a part of the team continuing this adventure for a new generation of Starfighters, both young and old.”
Co-writer Deric A. Hughes added, “In the movie The Last Starfighter, Alex Rogan is told that when an opportunity comes your way, you’ve got to grab it with both hands and hold on tight! So when the fine folks at Mad Cave, along with Paul Davidson and creator Jonathan Betuel himself, asked us if we’d like to help craft an exciting new spacefaring tale with the characters Alex, Maggie, Grig, and Centauri vs. the Ko-Dan Armada, that’s exactly what Ben and I did. And now, we hope our story inspires you enough to grab a copy with both hands and hold on tight, too.”
“When I was contacted to work on The Last Starfighter, I was really excited,” said artist Willi Roberts. “I remember watching that movie as a very young child, and when we discussed with the team everything we could contribute to this story to make it grow, I understood that we had a great franchise in front of us. When I told my colleagues, they all had a great affection for that movie. So I can guarantee that it will be a sequel that will bring a lot of mixed emotions and a great sense of adventure.”
A defining piece of sci-fi returns with its original creative voice intact, expanding the legacy for longtime fans while opening the door for a new generation raised on expansive, character-driven space epics.
The Last Starfighter #1 hits comic shops July 1, 2026 (FOC June 8), launching an all-new chapter that expands the universe, introduces a new class of Starfighters, and resets the stakes for the galaxy ahead.
A new chapter of Mark London’s Underworld begins.
A thriller on hidden power is coming this July from Mad Cave Studios by Mark London and Alden Kaye with Mister Nemo.
A new figure emerges from the depths of the Underworld Universe, and he’s been there longer than anyone realized. This July, MISTER NEMO surfaces from Mad Cave Studios, a standalone entry that pulls readers deeper into the interconnected world first introduced during the publisher’s 10th Anniversary celebration.Originally launched in 2024, the Underworld Universe has steadily expanded through titles including Revolution 9, Hour of the Wolf, Exit City, and the thrilling crossover event Endless Night. With Mister Nemo, creator and writer Mark London returns to the foundation of that world, uncovering the hidden architecture beneath it, where power operates unseen, and history has been carefully buried.Illustrated by Alden Kaye (Morgana Pendragon), winner of the 2024 Mad Cave Studios Talent Search, brings a distinct visual energy that balances classic literary influence with modern storytelling. Colors by Alex Sinclair (Astro City) and Fran Gamboa (Terrorbytes), letters by Pat Brosseau (Star Wars), with Cover A by Duncan Rouleau (Metal Men), with Cover B by Kaye.

A brilliant analyst uncovers a global conspiracy—and is immediately marked for disappearance—only to be rescued by the mysterious Nemo, a man waging a secret war from beneath the ocean. As they descend into a hidden world of covert power and impossible technology, one question remains: can they save the world before it even knows it’s in danger?
Mister Nemo has always been part of the larger design, waiting for the right moment to surface.
“Nemo has been living in the back of my head since the first day we built the Underworld Universe, and now it's finally his time,” said Mark London. “He's the most dangerous kind of protagonist: someone who knows too much and has absolutely nothing left to lose. Unity Ultima took his parents, took his childhood, locked him in a black site, and thought they'd broken him. They didn't break him. They built him. Through Nemo's eyes, readers are going to uncover the hidden history of the entire Underworld, secrets that reframe everything. He's our detective, our historian, and our most dangerous wildcard. This is the book the whole universe has been building toward. You don't want to miss it.”
Alden Kaye added, “Mister Nemo, while being a new chapter in Mark London's Underworld saga, is an exciting adventure with new twists on some really old school characters... like ‘Belle Époque’ old school. I don't want to lose any of the original inspiration, so I included homages to Verne and Deneuville where I could, so look out. I can't wait to see for myself how it unfolds into the broader story, but in the meantime, I'm having fun with the solid characters, globetrotting adventure, explosive action, and crazy new tech.”
Blending espionage, science fiction, and deep-world mythology, Mister Nemo serves as both an entry point and a turning point within the Underworld Universe. Perfect for readers drawn to layered conspiracy, high-concept action, and James Bond-style espionage, the series dives deeper into a universe built on the biggest secrets.
Mister Nemo #1 drops in comic shops July 15, 2026, with Final Order Cut-off on June 22.
