The third Glork Patrol book is out next week from Top Shelf Productions. I was lucky enough to have an advance read of this new story - Glork Patrol and the Magic Robot.
A mysterious package arrives with a tiny robot inside, named Glorkbot. Say hello to the newest member of the Glork Patrol! But when Gonk and Baby Quackaboodle quickly deplete its batteries by making it do too many funny dance moves, there’s only one entity they can turn to for help: the giant floating head known throughout the galaxy as the Magic Robot. Will the Magic Robot heed their plea for help… or blast them with his laser eyes? This action-packed laugh-fest from Eisner award-winner James Kochalka is the goofiest sci-fi comic in the entire universe!

I hadn’t read the previous Glork Patrol books, but after reading this zany adventure, it will be something I would look out for.
All ages books are sometimes difficult to review, as my children and I are older now. Luckily, I can act and think like a child, and as a child who grew up reading Beano and Dandy, I suspect that I would have been the child who would have enjoyed reading this story.
If you were a fan of Red Panda and Moon Bear, this is right up your alley!
This issue of Glork Patrol features a new addition - a robot. This isn’t a toy, and it’s a scientific instrument! As it is put through its paces, things start to go wrong, and the story moves on at an excellent and entertaining pace. There is some entertaining reading going on here, with some good action pieces to enjoy.
This is all built up with bright and entertaining art, with clever special effects and ways of showing the story moving on. I especially enjoy the robotic twists toward the end of the story.
I have a niece and nephew who I think would really enjoy this story, and will be speaking to them about it soon.
An excellent read and a great addition to the Top Shelf (and Glork Patrol) stories.
