As introductions go, this is something else! The blurb above gives you an incredibly good feel for what to expect. Nevertheless this is a striking beginning which gives you a bloody introduction to the family.
Moving on from this extended, bloody beginning we meet the ‘black sheep’ of the family. Looking at the more humanitarian side of work, she is targeted along with a journalist. This also showed us about her and what she is capable of.
As things move on we get a good feeling about the family dynamic, what they have been doing and what the family are made of. It's well done and the discussions over food give a good Godfather feel.
The breakdown of the bonds between the family are fast and things in the second half of the book move at a rapid pace, even so with all that it feels like a blockbuster.
The art is fantastic, giving us a big screen feel and done excellent cinematic big moments, with the action being at the forefront.
This was a brilliant beginning and finishes with a brilliant cleaner which leads us into the next issue.
