The Treasury Of British Comics has a new football collection out on the 21st of July - Roy Of The Rovers: The £100 Million Game.
The eighth book in the football-tastic Roy of the Rovers graphic novel series. Part of the third season, this exciting series is written by award-winning comics writer Rob Williams. It has been a tumultuous three seasons since Roy Race first joined Melchester Rovers. Through financial difficulties, injuries, the near-loss of their manager, new ownership and the destruction of their old ground, the Rovers have defied all expectations and now find themselves on the brink of promotion into the Premiership, having also secured a place in the cup final. As club captain and top striker, Roy has been instrumental in the Rover’s success. But although he’s found glory on the pitch, behind the scenes he has battled tragedy and heartbreak.
The fourth volume of The Rise and Fall of the Trigon Empire is coming on the 18th of August.
The fourth omnibus of the science-fiction classic, The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire, collects the stories published from 1973 through to 1976. Don Lawrence's painted art continues to be a highlight of the series, and as he takes a sabbatical from the strip Miguel Quesada and Philip Corke match his impressive work with their own style. The Trigan Empire remains resilient against enemies on all fronts, from treacherous politicians, murderous Zith assassins, and alien invaders, Trigo and Janno protect the citizens of Elekton.
And finally, there is The Best Of Gerry Finley-Day with some classic art from the 70’s and 80’s that fans will recognise.
From Tammy to the Eagle, Gerry Finley-Day was one of the most prolific comic book writers throughout the 1970s and 80s.
His work for 2000 AD in particular was extraordinary and included such beloved strips as future war G.I. Rogue Trooper, the 'Great escape' in space titled Harry 20 on the High Rock, the Star Wars inspired V.C.'s and a gritty 1970s take on the iconic Eagle character Dan Dare.
This collection contains some of Gerry's greatest work on these strips and more. Tight plots, non-stop action and plenty of thrills are here in abundance and highlight why 2000 AD became the stand out comic title in Britain.
All of these will be available on the 2000 AD webshop, Treasury of British comics webshop, book stores, Amazon, and comic book stores via Diamond and digitally from 2000 AD webshop & apps for iPad, Android and Windows 10 or , book stores, Amazon, and UK comic book stores via Diamond and Treasury of British Comics webshop & apps for iPad, Android and Windows 10
