An exciting new Kickstarter project is coming soon with The Whitechapel Cordon from Severus Press.
An Edwardian Horror Mystery
Severus Press is excited to announce the release of their brand new original graphic novel, The Whitechapel Cordon. This Edwardian Horror Mystery will be available exclusively on Kickstarter. The campaign goes live on Halloween, October 31st 2024, and will run throughout November.
The East End of London, 1905. An Old Soldiers’ Home is sealed behind an impenetrable cordon following a gruesome discovery. Consulting detectives Bernard and Felicity Hiltson are sent inside to investigate. The brother and sister duo swiftly realise that everyone there is trapped in a building where death lies around every corner… and far worse stirs in the attic.
Who’s involved?
Legendary artist David Hitchcock (2000AD, Dark Horse, Titan Comics, Hedrek) has beautifully illustrated The Whitechapel Cordon. He is perhaps best known for his gorgeous gothic artwork, having exploded onto the comics scene with his seminal steampunk epic, Springheeled Jack. The great Alan Moore described Springheeled Jack as “an ambitious and masterfully executed Victorian fever-dream.” Now David has returned to smog-filled grayscale London for another dark adventure.
Joining David is writer Chris Denton (Massacre for Boys, Killing Moon) and letterer Rob Jones (Image, Humanoids, Heavy Metal, etc., etc.). David’s wonderfully evocative cover has been coloured by Steven Denton (2000AD, Image).
Severus Press is a brand new publisher committed to professional-quality independent comics.
What are they saying?
“I am unbelievably thrilled to be able to see The Whitechapel Cordon come to life,” commented Chris Denton. “This has been a dream project of mine for longer than I care to remember. David was always my first choice artist and I was delighted when he agreed to come on board. He’s at the top of his game on this one and I think people are going to love it.”
