Currently funding on IndieGoGo is Chronicles of Ivy Episode 2: Stellar Surprise from Erenmoor Studios, following on from the first issue I featured. It’s good to see the second issue following so quickly.
The journey continues! Join Isabelle Roshan, who has crossed worlds, on a mission to find...someone.
Episode 2 expands the Chronicles of Ivy universe, a story about a model called Ivy and her fiancé, that begins small, yet leads into an adventure of cosmic significance.
Stellar Surprise picks up where the first episode ended and follows the remaining 12 hours of what will prove to be a very long day for Ivy.
Chronicles of Ivy Episode 2: Stellar Surprise continues where we left off and adds some meat to the story, with some background and more earthed items.
Kicking off, there is a degree of violence, with a tense questioning scene which adds a new dimension to the story. Then we are onto our main character moment, with some good back-and-forth action and some fun guesses on how the girlfriend will react. I liked how this plays out as it’s not what you would expect, but it does lead into a nice segway of history - which is told under less duress than you would think!
This issue splits the mundane chatting with some excellent scenes showing the history with some large panels and action going on - it makes the filling in the sandwich of the story well and makes good use of the larger 80-page size.
The artwork has some fun with some street and ‘normal’ scenes, some major violence and some excellent fantasy work.
This is a good issue that draws you in well and gives you a lot to chew on
