Fund Me Friday: Blessed Cure, Nord, Monkeys Fighting Robots, The Whistling Skull & Ku-Mighty
The latest crowdfunding comics projects to check out
It’s Friday, and here are some of the latest comics crowdfunding projects that have caught my eye I think you should check out.
There are two new projects from the excellent Soaring Penguin Press. The first one is Blessed Cure.
Ever since he was a boy growing up in Brazil, all Acacio wanted was to please his parents: get good grades in school, meet a nice girl, stop being so... gay.
This is a heartfelt story and has digital and print rewards. It is by Mario Cesar, and is the English translation of a Brazilian LGBTQ+ book about Conversion Therapy and a boy growing up in Brazil.
Check it out Crowdfundr.
Also from Soaring Penguin Press is Nord - Martin Simpson's epic Viking tale of a warrior king who battles Death!
A Viking King who has lost EVERYTHING, a devious plot hatched by the trickster God Loki and a quest to defeat Death itself!
This is a graphic novel-children's book hybrid that Martin's been working on for several years.
It’s running on Crowdfundr now.
Matthew Sard has a new comic magazine on Kickstarter.
Monkeys Fighting Robots: The Magazine #4
The COMIC CONVENTION Edition is here with a combination of curated comic strips and articles about impactful comic books.
The magazine is a combination of comics and articles about comics from an experienced team of writers and artists. After discussing Superheroes, The Future of Comics, and Cartoonists in our previous installments, this issue we will tackle all things "comic book conventions." Our team has articles lined up on Steve Ditko, the drunk side of Comic Con, Dollar Bin Dives, Conventions in Comics, Spider-Man's anniversary (the web-head looks great for 60!), and more, as well as our Best of 2022 and plenty of actual comics from some of our favorite rising star creators.
On Zoop, there are two new projects to have a look at:
Zoop Presents: The Whistling Skull - Special Edition Hardcover
Originally a released as a JSA Liberty Files six-issue series by DC Comics, the story has now been updated, re-establishing it as it was originally envisioned by the creators.
There are digital and print options available as well as special prints to check out.
By UGH! Entertainment there is Ku-Mighty #1
This project’s aim is to launch the premier issue of the Ku-Mighty comic book series. The storyworld was co-created through a 10-year collaboration of talent with the acclaimed team at Starlight Runner Entertainment.
Earth's true history has been disguised by mythology.
There are digital and print versions, and both can come with a special map too.
