Fund Me Friday: Chronicles of Ivy, Mugshots & I Took A Hammer To Hell
The latest comics crowdfunding news
Here is this week’s round-up of comics crowdfunding projects that may interest you!
Over on IndieGoGo is Chronicles of Ivy - Episode 1: Cosmic Castle.
Set in the world of Phoenix, Cosmic Castle tells the story of two companions, Milo Silverthorn and Isabelle Roshan, as they attempt a heist into a vault considered impregnable.
I’ve had a chance to read this first issue, and it is a great mix of genres and has some excellent action sequences. There is a lot to take in, but the larger size allows you to get into it all. I enjoyed the teases for the future. The way the beginning and the end link up is well done too. There are digital and print versions to check out.
On CrowdFundr is Mugshots: Sins Of The Father.
We don't want to give too much of the story away as the ashcan itself is a teaser for the longer story so we'd rather leave you some surprises. However, you can expect all the twists and turns, untrustworthy characters, double-crosses and bursts of visceral violence that great noir stories always contain. And of course, it is all delivered in Chris' stunning art style, that every fan of Darwyn Cooke, Sean Phillips and Eduardo Risso will love.
As well as the ashcan, there is the chance to get many more comics in special formats - including Mugshots & Frank At Home On the Farm.
And just launched and already fully-funded is I Took A Hammer to Hell by Matt Garvey, Mulele Jarvis and Fabi Marques.
Jake made deal with the devil for his eternal soul (original I know, but wait till you read it, this is VERY different) but instead of waiting till his time is up or trying to wiggle out of the agreement, he goes to Hell WILLINGLY!
Why on Earth would someone do this?!...
Well, he has only one goal in mind.
With nothing more than a MASSIVE hammer duck taped to his hand, Jake is going to kill the devil!
Awesome huh? I know it is as I have read it, and this looks to be a great story!
