Two new comics crowdfunding projects to check out.
Lifeline Comics has a new Kickstarter project with The Comic Shop, a comics anthology.
Bruno Stahl is funding Boom Bandits: The Complete Saga now.
Joseph P. Illidge Joins The Comic Shop Anthology: A Hit TV Show Tie-In!
It’s a Stacked Creative Roster to Bring “Ratz City” to Life in the Breakout Anthology of the Year
This fall, Lifeline Comics is expanding with the hit web comedy The Comic Shop—about a quirky crew doing anything to save their store—now leaps from screen to page with an ambitious new Kickstarter anthology.Among the standout contributors is acclaimed writer Joseph P. Illidge (Heavy Metal, Batman), teaming with dynamic artist Paris Alleyne (Black Panther) for Ratz City, a razor-sharp tale that channels the show’s irreverent spirit while pushing the boundaries of social commentary and high-energy comics storytelling.

The anthology is packed with inventive one-shots from a dream team of creators: Cody Ziglar (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) and DJ Kirkland (Black Mage) on Stephanie’s Day Off; Stephanie Williams (Nubia: Queen of the Amazons) and Tango (Killadelphia) on Edible Man; Akira B (Heartstopper) and Bex Glendining (Cosmoknights) on The Curious Case of Keke Wyatt; and Chris Robinson (Children of the Atom) and Jamila C (Princeless) on Keith Is Late. Editors Michele Abounader, Kat Calamia, and Phil Falco oversee the collection, with story contributions from Cheyenne Ewulu, Joshua David King, and Zeno Robinson, lettering by Jodie Troutman, and striking covers by Sway, Val Peri, and Meechdoodle.
From the publishers of the Ringo-nominated anthologies Transphoria and Hairology, this new release doubles as a love letter to comic-shop culture and a can’t-miss companion to the fan-favorite series that inspired it!
Joseph P. Illidge spoke of joining this amazing team:
“The Comic Shop is one of the funniest and full-of-heart shows on YouTube, so when I got the call to write a story within the comic book world of Cheyenne Ewulu’s cinematic universe, my mind was already racing. Getting to work with Paris Alleyne sealed the deal, so expect Ratz City to have some Shinchiro Watanabe mixed with Frank Miller’s Daredevil.”
Editor, Kat Calamia, added, “We’re very excited to blend mediums through the power of Kickstarter with some of the biggest voices in comics to bring the anthology to life!”
Perfect for fans of Clerks, Abbott Elementary, and offbeat ensemble comedies, The Comic Shop Anthology captures the chaos, camaraderie, and sheer heart of the spaces where comics—and friendships—are made.
Backers can jump in now to secure exclusive rewards and help bring this meta celebration of fandom to print.

A Cyberpunk Revolution Begins: Bruno Stahl’s BOOM BANDITS Hits Kickstarter
I love Boom Bandits, and it is great to see Bruno Stahl’s new Kickstarter with a big collection in Boom Bandits: the Complete Collection.
The future is broken, the rebellion is rising, and the fight for survival is about to begin!
Now live on Kickstarter, BOOM BANDITS: THE COMPLETE SAGA from HellDunkel Studios is a complete 140-page cyberpunk saga packed with action, satire, and unsuspecting heroes. It all began with a cage fight between two tech moguls that set off a twenty-year war.
Written and illustrated by Bruno Stahl (Spacewarp, Heavy Metal Magazine), with cover and print colors by Felipe Sobreiro (TMNT, Justice Warriors), and a foreword by the legendary Pat Mills (2000AD, Spacewarp, Marshal Law), Boom Bandits reimagines a dystopian future with bold storytelling and striking visuals. Edited by Odette Schofield, the book seamlessly blends cyberpunk storytelling with biting satire, making it a must-read for fans of rebellious, high-energy sci-fi.

A battle for technological supremacy left the world in ruins. As the elite fled to their fortified city, Methuseland, where genetic enhancements granted them indefinite life, the surviving youth of the wasteland—dubbed “Guttersnipes”—became a rebellious force. To crush this insurgence, Methuseland’s rulers unleashed the Youthanisers—cybernetic enforcers designed to keep the young in line. In this dystopian warzone, young rebels Freydank and Pixie find themselves on the run, pursued by the most fearsome of the Youthanisers. But when they unearth a long-buried relic, the spark of revolution ignites, setting the stage for an all-out battle against the oppressive elite.
Writer and illustrator Bruno Stahl spoke of the project:“Boom Bandits officially started as a lockdown project—but its roots go back to the early 2000s. Back then, as a geriatric Millennial fresh out of art school, you couldn’t check the news without stumbling across yet another article declaring us the laziest, most entitled, and least competent generation in history. Apparently, all our financial struggles were self-inflicted, and if we just stopped whining and worked as hard as the Boomers did—*cough, cough*—we too could afford nice things—
Well, Boom Bandits is my answer to that.
Visually, I wanted it to embody the raw, unfiltered energy of a real comic book. The page layouts, the frantic pacing—everything should make it unmistakable. Boom Bandits is pure, anarchic comics.
One of my biggest inspirations was Mad Max: Fury Road—not so much for the post-apocalyptic punks, but for the way it builds character through action. Like Fury Road, Boom Bandits relies on momentum rather than exposition—no clunky dialogue, no captions spoon-feeding the plot.
Will I succeed? That’s for the reader to decide.”
Boom Bandits delivers punchy storytelling, relentless action, and dark humor. With striking black-and-white artwork and Mad Magazine-levels of satire, it’s a must-read for fans of Akira, Ultramega, Ghost in the Shell, Transmetropolitan, and Judge Dredd, capturing the grit and energy of the cyberpunk genre.
This book is tailor-made for fans of dystopian rebellion and thought-provoking satire, offering backers exclusive editions, original artwork, and behind-the-scenes content. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this cyberpunk rebellion. The campaign for Boom Bandits: The Complete Saga ends Saturday, October 25th.
