Reviving Golden Age Legends: The Press Guardian and The Clock Return to Fight Modern Threats in a Thrilling New Series
A return of two heroes from the golden age of comics, admittedly two that I don’t know of, but this looks to be a fun comic to check out.
The revival of two iconic Golden Age pulp heroes together for the first time!
Green Archer Comics, the family-forged indie comic book company, is thrilled to announce its latest Kickstarter campaign
, THE PRESS GUARDIAN & CLOCK: 1942!Revitalizing two legendary characters from comic book history, Press Guardian—a fearless champion of press freedom created by Mort Meskin in 1940—and Clock, America’s first masked comic book hero introduced by George Brenner in 1936, this thrilling series reimagines these icons for a new era. Co-written by brothers Allan Liska (Johnny Dollar) and Benn Liska (The Green Archer), with dynamic artwork by Dan Butcher (Vanguard), the series breathes fresh life into these timeless heroes while honoring their storied legacies.

When The Clock uncovers a dangerous Nazi plot targeting America, his investigation leads him to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania—home of The Press Guardian, defender of truth and freedom. Together, these two heroes team up to stop the Nazis’ plans in a pulse-pounding, action-packed adventure full of intrigue, daring heroics, and plenty of Nazi punching in classic pulp comic style!
Green Archer Comics is a family-run publishing company blending classic storytelling with contemporary themes. Allan Liska founded the company and takes pride in its collaborative, grassroots approach to creating comics that inspire and entertain.
“There are so many great heroes from the ’40s and '50s that never really got the chance to have their stories told,” said Green Archer Comics founder & series writer, Allan Liska. “It's a privilege to be able to introduce these characters to a new audience and to honor the work of the amazing creators that came before us.”
Series co-writer Benjamin Liska added, “Taking a historical event like Operation Pastorious and putting a superhero twist on it was so much fun and a brilliant idea on Allan’s part. And Dan’s art really took our story to the next level.”
“Bringing this period to life in the comic was an absolute joy,” said artist Dan Butcher. “It's been the most fun I've had working on a project like this in a long time!
This series merges nostalgic pulp energy with modern relevance, creating a story that resonates with today’s readers.
Only 100 digital and 100 print editions are available, with the campaign aiming to fund the production of the first two issues. Reward tiers include digital and physical copies and exclusive collectibles and artwork.
Don’t miss out on being part of this exciting revival of classic heroes—The Press Guardian & Clock: 1942 campaign ends January 25th!
Venus Rises: Crossroads - Epic Sci-fi Dystopian Action
I had a chance to look at the previous part of the Venus Rises saga, and now, coming soon is the next part.
When a routine scan of a Jovian moon reveals shocking chemical traces of extraterrestrial life, tensions ripple through the entire solar system. Captain Dasan Locklear, a seasoned explorer known for his bold vision, proposes a daring mission to uncover the truth. But the journey is fraught with peril, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Leading the mission is Joshua Harper, a former Mars Defense Directorate operative, burdened by a shadowy past and the weight of failed missions. To succeed, he must confront his inner demons and join forces with Erani Sharma, an unlikely ally... an aspiring musician whose unconventional skills may be the key to solving the mysteries lurking beyond Jupiter.
While Parallels laid the foundation, Crossroads and the chapters to come (Freefall, Resist, and Threshold) crank the stakes to eleven. This is where the story’s heartbeat kicks into overdrive. The characters are forced to face their demons and band together in ways that feel raw and inevitable. And yes... the Ikarus crew makes their grand re-entrance in Freefall.
