Fully funded on Kickstarter in an insane amount of time, you should be backing Vodou Cowboy #1.

A ghoulish western comic inspired by our love of 80s horror movies...with a cowboy twist!

From writer Matt Garvey with art by Arjuna Susini, colours by Dee Cunniffe and a cover by Mark Texeira, this is Vodou Cowboy #1.

Kicking off with a stranger coming into town this starts off the atmosphere well on the first page. Something is routine in the town of Sweet Root...

This is a comic that first of all brings all the feelings of the old West. You can practically taste the first as you work your way through. There's the Groom's entry into town, the scared townsfolk and the saloon.

This atmosphere builds as we get to the meat of the story. Think of a classic Western, add in The Exorcist and some Vodou.

The introduction of the foes is really interesting and I love the dealing with them. This crossing of genres works really well as they fit really well and the fit of the characters is perfect for this setting. On top of that, there is something a little more personal that adds a hook for the story and leaves something more.

The art is fantastic, it really sets the tone from the off and I've already mentioned that you really feel it. I'm a fan of westerns, I watch them when they're on, and this fits right in there with them all. The styles of the art, building done excellent scenes.

Back Vodou Cowboy #1 now on Kickstarter here, with digital and print rewards.
