Fame might fade, but first loves don’t…
A new young-adult graphic novel from Maverick, Just Another Summer, is coming in August 2026.
One summer, far from the Hollywood spotlight, two teen celebrities confront love, labor, and new possibilities they never expected…
Mad Cave Studios’ YA imprint Maverick proudly announces JUST ANOTHER SUMMER, a queer and trans-friendly romantic comedy from writers Tilly Bridges and Susan Bridges (Star Trek Voyager: Homecoming, Monster High), featuring artwork by AoiG. (Lacrime di Cioccolata) and Giulia Rinaldo, with colors by Valentina Briski and lettering by Chas! Pangburn.
When scandal sidelines two LA teen celebrities, a punishment summer on a Montana farm forces them to trade red carpets for rubber boots—and to choose between the futures they were raised for and the loves they never saw coming.
Eager for a break from their brutal schedules as A-list actors, teen sisters Hayley and Becky Huxley sneak out to experience LA on their own terms. After a big mistake gets them fired from their gig on a hit TV show, they’re sent to a dairy farm in Montana to learn a little humility!
Sparks fly when they meet farm hand Jake, who can’t believe he has to babysit some pampered rich girls all summer! But Becky's very into the cute girl at the local diner, and Hayley and Jake start to realize that they have more in common than they think. Even though she's a cis city girl and he's a trans country boy — they might just be falling for each other. But they're from entirely different worlds, it could never work! ...or could it?
Writers Tilly Bridges and Susan Bridges shared their excitement about the forthcoming release: "Just Another Summer is a romcom about those heady emotional days in your late teens when you notice the world is changing... or maybe it's that your perspective changes as you learn something new. At heart, it's about realizing that people from wildly different backgrounds, with wildly different interests, are more alike than you thought. Even as a writing team, each of us came from very different upbringings, yet we found we had more in common than we ever imagined. We believe that we, all of us, are in this together, and the way forward begins with communication. That way lies hope, understanding, and yeah... maybe even love.”
Artist AoiG. also spoke to a personal connection with the story: “Just Another Summer was an experience for me, not only as an artist but also as a reader. As I worked through the story, I felt increasingly close to its characters. The character I empathized with the most was Jake because, surprisingly enough, I have a friend who is going through a very similar life journey with her transition, and for me, this project became a way to understand her better. I hope readers will appreciate all the nuances of this comic and grow attached to the characters, just as I did.”
Comparable to Heartstopper, this 200-page big-hearted OGN delivers a funny, tender romantic comedy about first love, trans joy, and choosing the life that feels real.
Just Another Summer arrives in bookstores and comic shops on August 4, 2026 (FOC July 13).
Two legendary animated worlds unite in one epic collection
A legendary crossover from Maverick in this upcoming edition of Princess Gwenevere x King Arthur Collection.
Mad Cave Studios and Maverick bring together iconic fantasy properties in the PRINCESS GWENEVERE × KING ARTHUR COLLECTION, a sweeping 528-page paperback featuring an all-new, never-before-seen crossover event!Written by Jordie Bellaire (Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders) and Joe Corallo (King Arthur and the Knights of Justice), the collection features art by Gaia Cardinali (Disney’s Mulan), Mandy Chan, and Koi Carreon, with colors by Gaia Cardinali, Linden Cahill, and Sarah Davidson, and letters by Chas! Pangburn.

This special edition collects both volumes of Princess Gwenevere & the Jewel Riders and volumes of King Arthur & the Knights of Justice in their entirety, alongside an original comic-length crossover where Merlin’s champions finally collide. Action-packed with magic, mythology, and adventure, this collection offers longtime fans and new readers alike an expansive YA epic rooted in heroism, friendship, and destiny.
"What a fun ride to experience King Arthur and The Jewel Riders together in one story! Joe Corallo, Gaia Cardinali, Mandy Chan, and Linden Cahill really brought all the charm and fun to our magical girls and their own loyal, kind-hearted knights! Jewel Riders fan favorite Koi Carreon and Chas! couldn't get rid of Morgana, so we continued our collaboration with this short story! Unfortunately, these pages mark the last entry of this special collaboration. I will happily treasure the time on the series and the friends made along the way! Big thanks to Lauren Hitzhusen for bringing us all together - even Fluffy, Stuffy, and Muffy were there!" —Writer, Jordie Bellaire
"I still can't believe that I got to contribute to the mythos of King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, a cartoon I looked forward to watching as a kid! And now you can not only read it all in one volume, but it's paired with Jordie Bellaire's fun and beautiful take on Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders, too! I had the absolute pleasure of co-writing a crossover with Jordie that readers will be getting to experience for the first time in this collection filled to the brim with magic, angst, and over-the-top Morgana action. I'm grateful for being allowed to collaborate with one of the most prolific and sought-after names in comics, and feel confident that fans and new readers alike will be thrilled with this newly added comic book-length story." —Writer, Joe Corallo
Perfect for fans of fantasy adventure, magical heroines, mythological retellings, and readers who grew up with animated fantasy worlds and are ready to revisit them through a YA comics lens.

The debut issue of We Who remain by Osy Ikhile arrives Wednesday on GlobalComix
This coming week on GlobalComix, the new series, We Who Remain, begins!
This Wednesday, Shadow Crown Comics launches WE WHO REMAIN—the debut comic series from British actor, producer, and filmmaker Osy Ikhile (Black Mirror, All American). We Who Remain
Brought to life by artist and letterer Mark Marvida (The Crying Boy, Pocus Hocus) and colorist Marvin Marvida (Spectrum), the series unfolds across a fractured world split between the neon-lit Corelands and the haunted expanse of the Hollow Wilds, where futurist tech and ancient magic uneasily share the same ground.
At its core, blends cyberpunk, dark fantasy, and myth into a character-driven saga centered on six strangers shaped by trauma—and the volatile bond between twin godlike sisters whose opposing philosophies have reshaped their world. In this universe, power is never free.
Every alliance has weight. Every choice leaves a mark. A new series you won't want to miss.

Across a divided world, where the neon towers of the Corelands pierce the sky, and the ancient spirits of the Hollow Wilds whisper through the dark, six broken strangers are pulled together by a force they don’t understand. Haunted by loss and marked by pain, they are led by the fading echo of Elara, a guardian of light, into a fight for humanity’s last breath.
But the enemy waiting for them isn’t a beast or a machine. It’s Dalia, Elara’s sister, her equal, her opposite, who has returned to destroy the balance in life itself. As cities burn and the earth trembles, the group must confront the ghosts of their own pasts and the truth that power never comes without a wound.
Their path will take them through the wreckage of civilization, through corrupted citadels of metal and arenas drenched in blood, toward the final confrontation between two gods who were once one. When the light finally fades, will the world end, or will it awaken?
For readers of Saga, The Wicked + The Divine, East of West, and Monstress, this exciting new series taps the same vein of myth, futurism, and emotional intensity.
We Who Remain #1 drops Wednesday, March 4, exclusively on GlobalComix. Visit www.shadowcrowncomics.com for more information about the series, and follow Shadow Crown Comics on Instagram for exclusive updates, first-looks, interviews, and more!
