Top Shelf Checks In at Hotel Limbo for a Glimpse of the Afterlife
A new graphic novel, Hotel Limbo, has been announced by Top Shelf. Making the transition from webcomic to graphic novel!
Welcome to the afterlife…may we take your bags? Hijinks and heartbreak await as this fan-favorite online comic becomes a gorgeous graphic novel, Hotel Limbo (Book 1) arrives April 14, 2026 at retailers everywhere. In this charming series debut, writer Ben Harel teams up with 28 artists from around the world to breathe life into a story about death. As comedy dances with drama and mystery, every tonal shift and blurred line is accentuated by an ever-changing visual style, creating a genre-bending medley of deadly (and death-ly) adventures. Hotel Limbo found an audience as a Webtoon with more than 1.3M views of this most of the time hilarious, sometimes terrifying, and oftentimes heartbreaking glimpse into the afterlife.
“My debut as a published author makes absolutely no sense. I went from coming up with terrible stories while playing with toys as a kid, to writing terrible fan fiction as a teenager, to slowly losing that part of me as I pursued my career as a therapist. I took the “mature,” “responsible” path, and I thought I’d closed that other door forever,” says creator Ben Harel. “One day I made an impulsive decision involving a huge financial investment and years of work filled with self-doubt and uncertainty, and here we are. It feels like I hopped into a different timeline. The ideas of anyone buying my book, meeting people who’ve read it, or even just holding it with my own hands - none of it feels possible. I’m just grateful for the immature, irresponsible kid in me who opened that door.”
After awakening in the middle of nowhere, a young man is forcefully inducted into the Hotel Limbo as its new bellboy (“BB” for short). Faced with magical masks, giant cats, a mysterious staff, and a hotel that just won’t sit still, BB will soon learn that helping with “baggage” means something very different when all the guests are dead.
Hotel Limbo will be available wherever books are sold, as a full-color softcover graphic novel (ISBN: 978-1-60309-587-7) as well as a digital edition, on April 14, 2026, for a list price of $19.99. For more information please visit theTop Shelf web site.

Mad Cave’s Gatchaman Universe Expands With the Rise of Red Impulse
Coming in April 2026, a new Gatchaman series from Mad Cave Studios, Red Impulse.
When missions turn sour and silence is the only option, Red Impulse is cleared for takeoff!
This spring, Eisner Award-winning writer Steve Orlando returns to Gatchaman with GATCHAMAN: RED IMPULSE, a new limited series from Mad Cave Studios, in partnership with Tatsunoko Production that centers on the Red Impulse Squadron—the pilots trusted when missions are too dangerous for anyone else!
Illustrated by Riccardo Robaldo (Radiant Black), with colors by Rebecca Nalty (Slasher’s Apprentice) and letters by Frank Cvetkovic (Exploit)—Gatchaman: Red Impulse brings the franchise’s unsung heroes into focus. Issue #1 features Cover A by Robaldo and a variant cover by Ringo Award-nominated artist Colm Griffin (Transformers: Beast Wars).

Captain Kentaro Washio takes Ken the Eagle on a blistering training run, but then gets a tip that Galactor is building a weaponized “attack city” designed to lure Gatchaman in and kill them all. With Doctor Nambu unaware and no time for backup, Kentaro goes in alone…and crashes straight into Berg Katse’s trap, where even the “citizens” are killer machines. Outnumbered, grounded, and fighting with nothing but grit and a sidearm, the Captain must demolish an entire city to keep his team safe...especially the son who doesn’t know their bond.
Steve Orlando weighed in on the latest chapter of the franchise:
“From the moment Gatchaman was announced, I've been waiting for this! The high-flying ace pilots of Red Impulse are finally coming to the page! And their solo adventures are going to be every bit the high-octane blockbusters you'd expect! How daring and badass do you have to be to be the people the Science Ninja Team calls when they're in too deep?! Get ready for Top Gun-style action as you've never seen—as the pilots of Red Impulse Squadron conquer four deadly missions the likes of which even Gatchaman has never seen! For years, they've saved the world and never taken an ounce of glory. We've never even known...until now!”
“I’m honored to return to the universe of Gatchaman as the artist of Gatchaman: Red Impulse,” added artist Riccardo Robaldo. “Working again with Steve on these characters has been an incredible experience, especially exploring a side of this world driven by courage, skill, and sacrifice. Through the art, I hope readers feel the intensity and responsibility carried by the Red Impulse pilots. This series is a celebration of heroism beyond the spotlight, and I can’t wait for fans to experience it.”
For over five decades, Tatsunoko Production’s Gatchaman has stood as a cornerstone of science fiction storytelling, defined by its blend of daring action and human consequence. Gatchaman: Red Impulse expands that legacy by spotlighting the elite pilots who have always been part of the fight.
Gatchaman: Red Impulse #1 drops in comic shops on April 29, 2026. Final order cut-off is April 6.

Great roundup as always. The Hotel Limbo webtoon-to-graphic-novel jump is super interesting to watch unfold, honestly didnt expect that one to make the leap so soon. Ben Harel's quote about taking the "irresponsible" path after being a therapist lowkey got me in the feels tho. Been following his stuff for a while and its cool to see it finally hapening in print.
