Kickstarter Review: Hell of a Job #1
Live now on Kickstarter
Have you ever hated your job? Have you ever thought that maybe it's a literal hell run by demons? What if you were right?!
Live now on Kickstarter, from Dave Franchini of Weird Brain Entertainment, is a new comic series - Hell Of A Job #1.
Have you ever hated your job? Have you ever thought that it's the worst place on Earth? Or, maybe that it could possibly be a gateway to hell, one that is run by soulless and evil creatures that could only be demons because of the way that they treat people? What if you were right? That's what Stevie Addams is about to discover. When one ordinary day at the hell she calls the office reveals a truth she could never have thought possible. It turns out that the contract she signed, for the privilege to even step foot in the building, was a deal with a demonic subdivision of hell. And unless she can find a way to negotiate out of it, when your contract is up, whether you quit, retire or die--you always belong to the company and your soul is forfeit!

We’ve all had jobs like this, haven’t we?
Kicking off with a foreboding dream sequence, we delve into the problems of working in offices. The friendships, the politics, and the work.
In all of this, there is something a little ‘off’ with the company that Stevie works for. Her increased workload (and oversleeping) caused her and her friends to make an interesting discovery about her workplace.
It is entertaining as the tension builds to Stevie's discovery that she has more hellish employers than most and that there is some small print in her work contract.
The clever hiding place and the discovery of these contracts are well played out, as we experience some demonic relaxation and a trip to ‘head office,’ so to speak.
Combining some dark humour, office problems and some action from hell, this is a gripping first issue, squeezing in a lot over the pages at the beginning of this story.
The art, colouring, and lettering in the story—as well as the bland, fun, and evil side of the office—can be quite entertaining.
This is a crowdfunder with a lot of options too, and worth jumping on at the ground floor of this adventure!
