Live now on Kickstarter from Triumph Comics is SKATE Directive #1.
When a hidden tech base is discovered by Talon, Victor Edge works in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps to dispatch their top covert operative the talented but brazen hero Emilio Decker, aka Skate.ย
Apprehending the baseโs villainous leader, however, proves to be a bit of a challenge in a fortress laden with traps, high-tech weaponry, robotic insects, and combat-ready French Maids!
Little does Skate know the hidden significance of this mission, and the effect it will have not only on his duty, but also his relationship and his very life.

SKATE DIRECTIVE is the first title from Triumph that crosses over characters from Codename: Black Death (Skate, General Hayes), Agents of Talon (Victor Edge), and even Devil's Claw (Short Fuse).ย
As a crossover, this does an excellent job of setting up the universe and the story in one issue.
This contained some brilliant concepts, and it passed on a lot of knowledge, setting up things to come.
We have the hierarchy of command and some good details of the tension there. There is the operative, who has his own issues to deal with, along with the power and suit he is wearing, and then there is the villain, who has his own peculiar thoughtsโฆ
There is a lot of commentary in this issueโwhich is rare in more mainstream comicsโbut in this case, it works well. Not only does it give some backstory into the tension and what went before, but it also gives a look into the mindset of the characters.
As the story progresses, the action and adventure ramp up with battles and a good discovery about the various powers in play. The robots are entertaining, and I liked the action sequences in the underwater location. This is a good credit for the art and storytelling.
This was a good read for both new readers, and those who know the universe in which it is contained.
Glad you enjoyed the read and world-building we're doing Michael!
