Nakama Press offers a look the haunting mystery about friendship, belief, and the stories we can’t escape
An interesting new graphic novel from Nakama Press, with a preview of Last Call To Leave Earth.
Nakama Press, an imprint of Mad Cave Studios, invites readers into a quiet, unsettling mystery where memory, belief, and unresolved history collide...
An original 180-page young adult graphic novel from Brazilian writer and illustrator Cassio Ribeiro (Iris Complex, Sara Animals, Navigating with You), LAST CALL TO LEAVE EARTH unfolds as a small-town mystery shaped by emotional realism and speculative unease, asking what we choose to believe—and what it costs to keep believing.

Rita, Carlos, and Lucas were merely friends until a pivotal moment changed everything: they photographed what many in the small town of Caminho da Anta believed to be an alien. Years later, Rita, now thriving as a professional photographer, returns to discover the truth behind that fateful day and its effects on their lives and the community. A troubled photographer, a fame-seeking UFO enthusiast, and a loyal cult member are all in pursuit of answers, but what they find could be more extraordinary than they ever anticipated.
A reflective mystery for fans of Paper Girls, Annihilation, and Under the Silver Lake, Last Call to Leave Earth lingers in the space where memory, belief, and unanswered questions collide.
The title arrives March 24, 2026. Preorders are open now.
Top Cow Productions And Image Comics Announce Simon Birks’ New Series — The Thing On the Doorstep
I must have missed the initial announcement, but here we are with a preview of the excellent mini-series, The Thing On The Doorstep, from Top Cow.
Top Cow Productions, Inc., in partnership with Image Comics, is proud to announce the upcoming release of The Thing on the Doorstep #1 (of 5), a chilling new series from award-winning writer Simon Birks (ANTARCTICA, One More Year, The Shadow Over Innsmouth) and acclaimed artist Willi Roberts (ANTARCTICA, The Dark, The Blood Below), with lettering by Rob Jones (Hitomi, Skulduggery Pleasant).
Based on H.P. Lovecraft’s terrifying story, The Thing on the Doorstep takes readers deep into a haunting mystery of friendship, madness, and the horrifying unknown.

Daniel Upton and Edward Derby have been best friends almost their entire lives—until the day Daniel shoots Edward dead in the Arkham Sanitorium. Daniel insists he’s innocent despite all evidence pointing to him. Find out the truth, and witness the beginning of a doomed relationship and Edward’s slow descent into a horrifying world beyond his control in this new series.
“I’m thrilled to bring The Thing on the Doorstep to life with Top Cow and Image Comics,” said writer Simon Birks. “Lovecraft’s original tale has always fascinated me, and in adapting it, I wanted to explore not only the classic cosmic horror but also the human relationships and psychological tension beneath it. This story delves deeper into the characters and adds a whole new dimension to Lovecraft’s mythos—one that I think both longtime fans and new readers will truly appreciate.”
Top Cow CEO Marc Silvestri (The Darkness, Witchblade, Batman: The Deadly Duo) added, “Simon Birks has an incredible ability to craft tension and emotion in equal measure. His writing pulls you in and doesn’t let go. We’ve been fans of his storytelling for a long time, and I’m confident readers are going to love what he’s done with The Thing on the Doorstep. It’s haunting, heartfelt, and utterly unforgettable.”
The Thing on the Doorstep #1 (of 5) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on February 11, 2026

Featuring an all-star creative team—writing by Scott Peterson (Scooby-Doo) and Joshua Pruett (The Last Kids on Earth), art by Mara Angellini, Francesca Follini, and Gianluca Papi, colors by Jurek Malottke and Francesca Vivaldi, and lettering by Buddy Beaudoin (Sunder)—this edition brings Disney’s Phineas and Ferb to life with vibrant energy.
Based on the beloved Disney animated series, this outrageous double-feature graphic novel delivers two original stories packed with the show’s trademark humor, creativity, and heart. In the first story, Phineas and the gang invent a maze big enough to get lost in… until Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s ELONG-inator accidentally expands it so large that it swallows all of Danville. With the entire Tri-State Area trapped inside, the kids must invent their way out while Agent P races to stop Doof from using the maze for yet another misguided takeover scheme.
The second story spins Danville into an alternate reality where Dr. Doofenshmirtz stars as a cheesy late-night horror host. When real monsters start appearing—including a giant, feral Perry the Platypus—the kids team up with Doof’s horror know-how to build over-the-top inventions that might just save the day.
In this outrageous and original double-feature graphic novel, Phineas and Ferb face an oversized maze full of oversized insects and oversized challenges, forcing them to invent their way home! The second story features an alternate reality adventure with Dr Doofenshmirtz as a horror movie TV host teaming up with Phineas and the gang to face real monsters, including a giant feral Perry!

Twin Demon Hunters, Ancient Secrets, and a War That Won’t Stay Buried
From Golem Press is the announcement of a new fantasy maxi-series, Hunters Of Sheydim.
For centuries, humanity has unknowingly teetered on the edge of annihilation. Now, the fragile peace has shattered. The Lord of Demons, Asmodeus, has returned—and the only ones standing between him and destruction are two half-human, half-Nephilim Jewish twins trained since childhood to kick demon ass!
Golem Press is thrilled to announce HUNTERS OF SHEYDIM, an epic new 12-issue supernatural saga from writer Jeff Marvin (Cycles End, Grave Soldiers: Crutch Brigade), artist Riley Brown (Dead Acre: Black Badge), colorist Vinicius Townsend (G.I. Joe, Vampirella), and letterers Dezi Sienty (Teen Titans, Deathshroud) and Sinisa Matic (Deathshroud). With editorial direction by Ori Ayalon and historical consultation by Rabbinit Dr. Tamar Marvin, this debut series merges apocalyptic horror, ancient mysticism, and brutal emotional stakes.

Twin sisters Caterina and Lucia de la Vega—raised in Spain, reclaimed by their Jewish heritage—are recruited by Rabbi Eli Eidelman into an underground sect waging a war of containment. In this fight, Gehinnom isn’t a metaphor but a living hellscape where demons are born—and if they break through, Shamayim’s angels won’t just smite them, they’ll burn everything in their path. When the fragile alliance holding the line begins to crumble, the sisters are hurled into a battle spanning modern-day Israel, ancient Babylon, the ruins of Barcelona, and the depths of Gehinnom itself. Alongside rogue angels, broken prophets, and haunted warriors, they’ll face infernal bloodlines, ancestral secrets, and the question of who gets to write the end of the world.
Jeff Marvin spoke of the project:
“Hunters of Sheydim started as a familiar tale of demon hunting, but I wanted to tell it through the lens of Jewish mysticism—a perspective that’s often overlooked. In Christian tradition, demons are usually purely evil, but in Jewish texts, they are layered, complex beings, capable of both terrible deeds and surprising acts of cunning or even kindness. This shapes the heart of the story, because it’s really about choice. Caterina and Lucia are navigating their emerging Jewish identity while carrying memories of a Catholic upbringing, and that tension—feeling like outsiders everywhere—guides how they confront the supernatural and themselves. Working with an extraordinary creative team, we’ve built a universe where history, mythology, and human emotion collide. I hope that audiences are drawn into the adventure, but also begin to see demons, angels, and magic in a way that challenges their assumptions—and illuminates the complexity of choice, faith, and identity.”
“Working with Jeff and Ori was a breeze,” said Riley Brown. “I didn’t know much about Jewish folklore going in, but that became part of the fun—doing my homework, asking questions, and shaping a vision that felt authentic and lived-in. The sisters were a joy to draw, with their opposite personalities shining through in looks, mannerisms, and expressions. Asmodeus was trickier, layered, and unpredictable, so I leaned into subtlety to let the mystery show. Stylistically, I drew from movies, superhero comics, and manga, leaning into a cinematic approach that made the story a blast to bring to life.”
With the genre grit of Blade and Constantine, the emotional resonance of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the cultural specificity of Kosher Mafia and Edenfrost, Hunters of Sheydim is a supernatural horror-thriller with something rarely seen in comics: Jewish demon hunters, rooted in Kabbalah and Sephardic history. This is a world where Dybbuks whisper from cellphones, Iron Golems battle Chemosh at Masada, and ancient prophecies come with a body count.
Hunters of Sheydim launches from Golem Press on March 18, 2026, with preorders on golem-press.com and follow @golempress on socials for updates.

Love the breadth here, pulling four completely different releases into one digestable roundup. The Perry-as-monster twist in the Phineas and Ferb spanish edition genuinely caught my attention; taking a familiar character and flipping them feral is such an underutilized move in kids' media. Reminds me of seeing an old mascot redesigned for horror, whichh creates this weird cognitive dissonance that works so well.
