Welcome to Lovecraftian Riverdale
Over on digital comics distributor and app, Comix, there is a spotlight on the Miskatonic High series.
The small New England town of Miskatonic always seemed like a nice place to live. But as the leaves turn color and the nights grow longer, a group of students from Miskatonic High are going to learn that their universe is not what they think it is.

A cup of chills, a tablespoon of humor, and a pinch of real-life pathos make up the mixture for this new series from writer Mike Shea and artist Ryan Mendoza. Through the six-issue first season, Alex, Matt, Sarah, Simon and Ren will travel through time to come face to face with the Mad Arab Abdul Alhazred and his Necronomicon, descend into the darkest pits under the earth, and learn what is really going on in the public library when no one is looking.
Sirens of Sequentials rated us four stars and said Miskatonic High is “Everything you want in a good horror story. … I cannot wait to see where it is going to go next.”
Kevin Smith and Archie Comics join forces!
For fans of Kevin Smith, there is a new team-up from Archie Comics, with Archie Meets Jay & Silent Bob.
Acclaimed filmmaker, director, writer, podcaster, and comic book fan Kevin Smith brings his talents to the world of Archie Comics in July with an oversized one-shot comic crossover, and a few of his friends are coming along for the ride: Jay and Silent Bob!
“I believe it was Stoic philosopher Epictetus who first said, ‘Everything’s Archie.’ And he was right,” Smith said. “Whether it be Veronica in Clerks or the Mister Weatherbee conversation in Chasing Amy, the influence of Archie Andrews is mixed into the brick and mortar of my pop cultural foundation. So, there was no way I was passing up this incredible opportunity to collide the worlds of Riverdale and the Askewniverse, and introduce icons on the order of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Moose, Reggie, and Josie to reprobates like Jay and Silent Bob.”
ARCHIE MEETS JAY AND SILENT BOB #1 — written by Smith with art by Archie mainstays Fernando Ruiz, Rich Koslowski, Matt Herms, and Jack Morelli — barrels into comic shops on July 9 — just in time for the year’s biggest pop culture event, San Diego Comic Con. The crossover the world has been waiting for kicks off when Archie gets a summer job working at Quick Stop alongside none other than Randal Graves, who debuted in Smith’s seminal 1994 film Clerks. But when Jay and Silent Bob hit the scene, Archie’s life — and all of Riverdale — only get wilder from there. Written in the hilarious, sharp style that defined his films, ARCHIE MEETS JAY AND SILENT BOB #1 is a must-read for fans of Smith’s work and diehard Archie readers looking for a more mature and biting interpretation of the classic characters.
“ARCHIE MEETS JAY AND SILENT BOB is a crossover like we’ve never done before! Kevin has brilliantly brought two legendary, generation-defining worlds together to tell a story that’s so funny, totally wild, and also heartfelt and moving,” said Archie Comics’ Jesse Goldwater, who was instrumental in making the project happen. “Kevin Smith — a true genius — tells a story that feels both quintessentially View Askewniverse and classically Archie, honoring the incredible legacies of these beloved iconic characters. I cannot wait for readers to check out what I believe is going to be the greatest crossover in the history of entertainment!”
Following in the footsteps of now-legendary Archie crossovers like ARCHIE MEETS PREDATOR, ARCHIE MEETS RAMONES, and more, ARCHIE MEETS JAY AND SILENT BOB #1 presents readers with an unlikely, historic, and completely bonkers pairing — in partnership with Smith himself. The end result, courtesy of Smith’s sly wit, takes Archie, Jay, Silent Bob, and the rest of the gang through a raucous 48 pages of hijinks as they crash a Pussycats concert, meet a potential new love interest, and blaze through a musical number that will be burned into your brain forever.
“I couldn’t be happier that the first crossover Secret Stash Press has ever done is with Jesse and the good folks at Archie Comics,” Smith added. “Everything’s Archie, and Archie is everything.”
ARCHIE MEETS JAY AND SILENT BOB #1 arrives wherever comics are sold on July 9. It will be available for pre-order on April 25.

Honor Among Thieves. Survival Among Killers
Coming soon from Image Comics is a new crime thriller, Dark Honor, and here is a preview!
The city is in lockdown. The streets are empty. And the underworld is up for grabs! Coming this spring from
Image Comics' imprint
Syzygy Publishing is
DARK HONOR—a razor-sharp crime thriller set in New York City at the dawn of the COVID-19 pandemic, where the virus isn’t the only unseen threat.

Written by Ethan Sacks (Star Wars: Bounty Hunters, Old Man Hawkeye), K.S. Bruce, and Brian DeCubellis, this five-issue series marks Bruce and DeCubellis' first foray into comics after a successful run in film—most notably their work on Trust (2021), a top-10 Netflix hit in 20 countries, and Manhattan Night (2016), starring two-time Academy Award winner Adrien Brody.
The series is brought to life by the “Ocean’s 11 of artists”, featuring interior art and covers from the powerhouse creators of Fico Ossio (Black Lightning, No One Left To Fight), David Messina (Ultimate Spiderman, 3 Keys), Gabriel Guzman (Lady Earth, Predator), Jamal Igle (Molly Danger, The Wrong Earth); featuring colors by colorist Raciel Avila, and letterer JAME.
Brian DeCubellis, co-creator and writer, spoke of the project's origin: "Dark Honor was born in the earliest days of COVID-19 in New York. As we wrapped filming Trust in March of 2020, the city was shutting down, and we wanted to capture that surreal moment. Inspired by neo-noir crime films, we created Rain, a street-savvy hero, and the Hundred Warriors, with Grigor embodying COVID—a relentless, unexpected killer."
K.S. Bruce added, "Dark Honor may be fiction, but its backdrop is real—the empty streets, released prisoners, and desperate scrambles for survival, as an unknown disaster hits New York. Initially written as a screenplay, it felt too raw for film. But with Ethan Sacks’ adaptation, Chris Ryall’s expertise, and an incredible creative team, we’re honored to bring this story to comics."
"Once I heard K.S. and Brian's incredible pitch, I knew I wanted to be a part of bringing Dark Honor to comics readers," said co-writer Ethan Sacks. "They had me at 'Hello'—or more accurately, at a modern crime story set in New York City during the earliest and deadliest weeks of the COVID-19 epidemic. Having covered the damage COVID-19 did to my city in 2020 as a journalist for NBC News, it's been a creative boon to now tackle that place and time as a comic book writer. And with a murderers' row of talented artists—Fico Ossio, Dave Messina, Jamal Igle, and Gabriel Guzman—it’s only fitting for a book about a row between murderers."
The Hundred have protected New York's crime families for a century—now the city belongs to a new killer.
Dark Honor brings a gritty, neo-noir twist to New York’s criminal underworld, where the real plague isn’t the virus but the power struggle left in its wake.
Dark Honor #1 hits shelves on May 28th and is now available for pre-order.
