A new series, Hour Of The Wolf, is new from Mad Cave Studios and expands the Underworld universe.
Mad Cave Studios presents a first look THE HOUR OF THE WOLF, the thrilling second title from writer Mark London’s Underworld universe, featuring art by celebrated Brazilian artist Danilo Beyruth (Frank Miller Presents), with Cover A by Andrei Bressan (Dark Ride) and Cover B by Raymund Bermudez (The Amazing Spider-Man). Colors by Fabi Marques and Letters by Dave Sharpe.
When Owen Blackwood is called across time to a seemingly normal home to destroy a haunted painting, it didn't feel like anything out of the ordinary to this agent of Wolvenheart. Upon arrival, however, Owen finds himself trapped in the very painting he was called to destroy. With only a one hour window of time in which to operate, will Owen be able to save the family from certain death and destroy the painting? Or will he get lost in time and become a cross-dimensional walking ghost?
“Hour of the Wolf gave me the opportunity to revisit the supernatural world of Wolvenheart,” said writer Mark London. “A world where time unravels, the history of the world becomes blurred, and anything is possible. In this collision of horror, fantasy, and historical fiction, we follow a member of Wolvenheart, named Owen Blackwood, as he's called to deal with a cursed, murderous painting terrorizing a normal family. And just like any mission he is sent on, he only has one hour to do it!”
“It’s like a horror-packed action movie,” said series artist, Danilo Beyruth. It's all about non-stop thrills. Drawing this was a blast, and getting to know the Mad Cave team was an awesome experience.”
“This series is terrifying in ways that speak to us as humans,” said Mad Cave Studios Editor, Chris Fernandez. “Wolf asks the question, ‘How far are you willing to go to get what you want?’ In turn, what about those who made mistakes? How can they redeem themselves? To what lengths are they willing to go to find that redemption? Danilo and Fabi did a great job expanding on the Wolvenheart while also bringing something entirely new for the series to the table!”
In addition to The Hour of the Wolf, the Underworld series also includes Revolution 9 (September 2024) and Exit City (November 2024). Each miniseries set within can be savored as a standalone serial, while serving as a stepping stone towards Endless Night, the must-read crossover guaranteed to blow your mind in 2025.
The Hour of the Wolf #1 hits shops Oct. 23rd, is currently available for preorder, and is included in the Mad Cave Studios Subscription Series.
