The Night Sky Has Chosen Its Guardian. Now Something Ancient Has Chosen Her.
New to the Underworld Universe from Mad Cave Studios is Victoria Jaguar #1, plus news on Hour Of The Wolf #5.
Mad Cave Studios proudly announces the next chapter of the Underworld Universe with the debut of VICTORIA JAGUAR, an all-new five-issue series from Underworld creator Mark London (Battlecats, Hunt. Kill. Repeat.), featuring breathtaking painted interior artwork and the main cover by comics superstar Marco Rudy (Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier, Justice League Dark), with letters by Pat Brosseau (Dick Tracy).
Since launching in 2024, the acclaimed shared universe has grown into an interconnected line of supernatural thrillers spanning Revolution 9, Hour of the Wolf, Exit City, the crossover event Endless Night, and Mister Nemo. Now, it turns its attention to ancient legends and immortal guardians, broadening the mythology that connects its growing line of supernatural stories.
A man tormented by impossible nightmares journeys across the world in search of the mythical Victoria Jaguar, an immortal guardian chosen by the Night Sky itself centuries ago. But when Victoria uncovers the truth behind his visions, she realizes the nightmare is real—and an unseen enemy has already set its sights on her.
Rooted in ancient mythology and supernatural horror, Victoria Jaguar introduces an immortal protector whose centuries-old legacy collides with an impossible new threat in a thrilling standalone adventure that blends haunting mythology, supernatural horror, and breathtaking painted artwork while expanding the ever-growing Underworld Universe.

Readers can return to the Underworld Universe even sooner with HOUR OF THE WOLF #5 (of 8), the beginning of a terrifying new story arc from Mark London and artist Félix Ruiz (Archie & Friends), featuring Cover A by Mark Chiarello and Cover B Dave Chisholm, arriving in comic shops on October 14, 2026 (FOC September 21).

The Shocking Finale of Event Horizon’s Trilogy Revealed
Chaos and horror in space, with IDW Publishing announcing the final part of the trilogy with Event Horizon: Pandemonium.

Joined by master of horror artist Hernán González (John Carpenter’s Tales for a Halloween Night), EVENT HORIZON: PANDEMONIUM brings chaos and terror to comic shops this December. The haunting world of Paramount Pictures’ Event Horizon expands into other dimensions as familiar faces from the nightmarish saga reunite for a finale full of shocking twists and turns.
“It’s been such a huge honor to have been trusted with this beloved property that means so much to so many, myself included,” said Ward. “It’s no secret that when I was first invited by IDW editor Nicolas Niño to pitch what my take on Event Horizon would be, what I ended up proposing went far beyond the prequel DARK DESCENT. I pitched a trilogy that would take even wilder swings and make fans look at the 1997 film in a completely different way, and PANDEMONIUM was always the end goal. Myself and the incredible artist Hernán González are taking you even deeper into the Chaos Realm. Event Horizon will never be the same very again. All roads have been leading us here... to Heaven!”
“I’ve been drawing comics for several years and have always loved the horror genre,” stated González. “I feel truly honored to be able to bring to life everything I love through my drawings: monsters, modern machinery (specifically from the ‘90s), complex page layouts, and, above all, the darkness of the soul. I hope everyone loves these comics as much as I love making them. As we say in Argentina: ‘time to put all the meat on the grill!’”
The Chaos Realm has taken over the comic book industry and it’s easier than ever to catch up on the celebrated stories. The complete prequel tale, EVENT HORIZON: DARK DESCENT, goes on sale July 28 everywhere books are sold. The sequel series, EVENT HORIZON: INFERNO, is currently releasing, with the first three issues on sale now in comic shops and issue #4 releasing August 5.
Pre-orders for EVENT HORIZON: PANDEMONIUM are due October 19. To avoid having nightmares about missing out, fans should contact a comic shop near them to guarantee their copies.
A Legendary Detective Returns for a New Generation
Announced at San Diego Comic-Con from Mad Cave Studios is detective action with Rip Kirby.
Following a first look during San Diego Comic-Con, Mad Cave Studios, in partnership with King Features, a unit of Hearst and home to some of the world’s most popular entertainment characters, unveils the return of RIP KIRBY. One of the most influential detectives in comics history, Rip Kirby will star in an all-new series that honors the sharp wit, sophistication, and timeless appeal that made the character a legend.
Written by two-time Eisner Award nominee Christopher Sebela (High Crimes, Dead Letters), illustrated by Tango (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Archie Horror), colored by KJ Diaz, and lettered by Jeff Eckleberry, Rip Kirby delivers a fresh mystery built on one of comics' most enduring foundations.
War hero. Star athlete. Brilliant scientist. Savvy private investigator. Rip Kirby’s reputation is long secured, and these days he’s enjoying the post-war boom of New York City. With gorgeous and quick-witted Honey Dorian at his side and reformed criminal valet Desmond running the show, it’s a perfect life and perfectly balanced. It’s been perfect for what seems like forever… But Rip’s world is about to get complicated, and his unflappably decent ways are newly tested. Up against a world that seems to be growing too fast, can an upstanding man of morals and fair play like Rip remain himself, or will he be swallowed up by the ugliness?
In 1946, co-creators Alex Raymond and Ward Greene introduced Rip Kirby, a detective who stood apart from the hard-boiled heroes of the era. Solving cases through intelligence, scientific reasoning, and careful observation rather than brute force, Kirby helped redefine crime fiction and left an enduring mark on newspaper strips for generations to come.
The debut issue by Sebela and Tango goes on sale November 4, 2026, with a Final Order Cutoff of October 12, 2026. Rip Kirby #1 will be available with Cover A by Annie Wu, plus a Cover B, Cover C, Cover D, a foil edition, and a blank sketch cover—with more details on the way soon.
