Pick of the Week
I’m going to try to keep this up all year, so come December, I can do my top 10 picks of 2026!
Anyway, this first pick of 2026 is Batman #5 from DC Comics.
A night out with Bruce Wayne goes off the rails immediately for Dr. Annika Zeller — it seems her experimental Crown of Storms has her marked for death. And if they survive the legendary 000 Gang, they'll still have to confront the sinister assassin known as The Ojo!

This was a fast-paced issue that really caught me. We get to see a different side of Batman - in fact, we don’t get to see Batman at all - and it builds on the new status quo as well as adding in some new people.
Dr Annika Zeller seems to be an interesting character with some strong capabilities.
I enjoyed the art, and the final panel on the issue was highly entertaining and had some great ramifications for the future.
