A tough week, with some excellent books out – check out the honourable mentions below for some of the others, but my pick of the week is The Omega Book #1 from Mad Cave Studios.

A great introduction to a new story. I really liked the concept, mixing science fiction with some of the more out-there aspects of the universe. Adding in a murder mystery and mysterious people and organisations trying to get hold of the book was great.
There is some fantastic art in here, with the world’s building, universal aspects and the various special effects and weapons.
The cliffhanger ending is a fantastic hook for the rest of the story, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.

The Smart Division #1 from Dark Horse Comics – an interesting twist on modern technology, a generational gap and the near future.
Bludwire #2 from Mad Cave Studios – a packed issue with action and an excellent chase. The relationship between the two continues to intrigue!
Money Shot: The F* Offs #1 from Vault Comics – a fun and sexy romp to begin the story, with new characters and new threats. A good jumping-on point.
Batman #12 from DC Comics – a new character and addition to the Bat-family. There is action and a memorable page in the lift too.
