Post Malone, Vault Comics, And Platinum Dunes Announce Big Rig Comic Book Series
Combining music and comics, Vault Comics has teamed up to bring a new mini series - Big Rig!
Post Malone, Vault Comics, and Platinum Dunes have announced that Post’s Malone’s Big Rig will release as a special limited series of comics available only in comic book stores. The double-sized Big Rig issue#1 will debut in stores on July 9th, 2025, with subsequent issues released monthly.

Every issue of Big Rig will be released with special, randomly distributed variant covers, including hyper-limited one-of-one variants from the industry’s most popular and influential artists. This stellar lineup of artists includes Daniel Warren Johnson, Peach Momoko, Tula Lotay, Maria Wolf, Jim Mahfood, Darick Robertson, Corin Howell, Dan Panosian, Luana Vecchio, and Big Rig series artist, Nathan Gooden. Additional variant artists will be announced in the weeks to come.
"Big Rig is a crazy comic about three unlikely heroes battling wicked demons in medieval times using a massive eighteen-wheeler truck, and it's pretty fucking awesome,” said Post Malone.
An original story created by the 9x diamond recording artist, Big Rig is written by Post Malone and Adrian Wassel, and drawn by Nathan Gooden (Barbaric, Brandon Sanderson’s Dark One, Dark Knights of Steel). Big Rig is Evil Dead meets Mad Max: Fury Road in this story set in medieval Europe, where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent from the heavens.
Early buzz for Post Malone’s Big Rig is already glowing.
“This is the most metal fucking thing I’ve ever read,” added Christopher Yost, writer of Thor: Ragnarok and The Mandalorian. “If Army of Darkness, Big Trouble in Little China and, I don’t know, Ozzy Osborne all got drunk and procreated, you’d have Big Rig. The ideas are big and loud and messed up, the art is somehow even more messed up but gorgeous at the same time… Post, Adrian and Nathan have done something incredible here."
“Keep the hammer down and the hell fires burning — Post, Wassel, and Gooden deliver one of the wildest man vs. demon takes in many a gibbous moon”said legendary actor, comedian, and writer, Patton Oswalt.
"Furious and diabolically fun!” said Sean Goron Murphy (Batman: White Knight, Zorro: Man of the Dead). “Watch out, your head will snap back with a devilish grin when BIG RIG hits the gas."
Big Rig continues a hot streak for Post Malone, who recently headlined Coachella and is about to embark on his BIG ASS Stadium Tour.
Working closely with Post Malone, Vault will launch the story as a limited single issues series, with direct-to-consumer editions of the graphic novel available for pre-order beginning in May, and shipping in October, and a retail release in early 2026. Meanwhile, Post Malone, Platinum Dunes, and Vault will concurrently develop a feature film adaptation of the story.
Fans everywhere can check out Big Rig as part of Free Comic Book Day, and can pick up the double-sized first issue of Big Rig at their local comic shop on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. The full synopsis for Big Rig #1 can be read below:
THEY PRAYED FOR A MIRACLE. THEY GOT 25 TONS AND 18 WHEELS OF HOLY WEAPON.
The Dark Ages…Demon hordes plague Europe as Hell invades Earth. The Six Petals, a secret sect of The Knights Templar, are in desperate need of a means to drive back the scourge and turn the tide of the onslaught. What crashes to earth is The Rig, a fully loaded tractor trailer. In the aftermath of its arrival, the only man left standing is an enigmatic former priest excommunicated from The Six Petals. He will become Trucker and lead the fight against Hell behind the wheel of a demon-slaying machine.

A Centaur in the Old West—A Cult Classic Webcomic is Reborn!
It’s great to see comics finding new mediums - and Hotblood is a webcomic now being published by Mad Cave Studios.
The sun sees all, even what we try to bury…
Mad Cave Studios is thrilled to announce
HOTBLOOD! VOL. 1: THE LAND OF PROMISE, the long-awaited print debut of the cult-favorite webcomic by writer and artist Toril Orlesky. This reimagined edition has been fully redrawn, re-scripted, and sharpened into a poetic, brutal, and unflinchingly queer reworking of the Western—where power is currency, love is dangerous, and centaurs walk among men!

In the red days of the West, centaurs and humans coexist. The desolation of the American West, burning bridges, true love, and ancient mythologies—
The year is 1871 and the centaur Evander Rook finds himself at rock bottom, working for would-be robber baron Asa Langley–a human! As the unlikely pair get closer, romance and conspiracy run wild and Rook finds himself caught up in Asa’s ambitions as they are both forced to face the ghosts of their interwoven pasts.
“In 2013, I started posting Hotblood! on Tumblr as a biweekly webcomic,” said Toril Orlesky. “Twelve years and a full rewrite later, we’re back in the saddle again! Thanks to my agent, Maeve MacLysaght, and the team at Mad Cave for their belief in this project. I’m so grateful for another opportunity to share it with you!”
This isn’t just a Western—it’s a warpath through grief, lust, betrayal, and ruin. Fans of Beastars, House of Five Leaves, Starfighter, and Brokeback Mountain won’t want to miss this exciting 240-page OGN, so get shakin!
Hotblood! Vol. 1: The Land of Promise hits comic shops and bookstores on September 9, 2025. Preorder now through your favorite local comic shop, book store, or from Mad Cave directly.
A Demon on Wheels—Speed Racer Ignites a New Era at Mad Cave Studios!
With an all-star team it’s great to see the return of classic character Speed Racer. Check out the details from Mad Cave Studios and Tatsunoko Production.
Drive like your legacy depends on it. Get ready, get set, SPEED RACER roars into a bold new era!
Mad Cave Studios and
Tatsunoko Production are about to launch
Speed Racer, the brand-new ongoing series and the first entry in a larger universe that will include Racer X and Speed Racer: Tales from the Road. Set in a neon-soaked future where racing isn’t just a sport—it’s survival—Speed Racer blends turbocharged action with gritty family drama and high-stakes emotion.

Written by Ringo Award-winner David Pepose (Space Ghost, Savage Avengers) and illustrated by fan-favorite Davide Tinto (Spider-Man, Star Wars), colors by Rex Locus, with lettering by Buddy Beaudoin, this explosive launch centers on a fractured Racer family caught in the fast lane of the deadly Formula X Championship League—featuring a series of exciting star-studded cast of artist variant covers:
Cover A by Alessio Zonno, Cover B By Sean Galloway, Cover C by Paulina Ganucheau, Cover D by Nicolette Baldari, Cover E by Sebastian Piriz, Cover F blank sketch, Cover G Retailer Incentive by Chris Batista, Cover H Retailer Incentive by Ken Niimura; plus a Mad Cave exclusive cover by Michael Cho, and a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive by Jo Chen.
Notably, at its heart,
Speed Racer is a story about legacy—the one we inherit, the one we outrun, and the one we choose to build.
An all-new interpretation of Tatsunoko Production's classic anime, Mach GoGoGo, known to Western audiences as Speed Racer!
Speed Racer lives for the thrill of the race, but on the underground circuit, the rules are anything goes. Dodging bullets, explosions, and dirty tricks, he’s got one goal: to prove he’s the best. But when a dangerous syndicate targets his family, Speed’s greatest challenge won’t be on the track...it’ll be on the streets. With the police closing in and a masked racer lurking in the shadows, Speed is about to learn that some races can’t be won with horsepower alone.
“Buckle your seatbelts, comic fans... we're putting the pedal to the metal with the return of Speed Racer,” said David Pepose. “I couldn't be more excited to launch this brand-new series based on the classic cartoon — think of Rocky in a race car, as we push Speed to his absolute limits and beyond in the high-octane Formula X Championship League. As he drives the legendary Mach 5, can even Speed move fast enough to save his family and bring justice back to the tracks? Starting this Free Comic Book Day, get ready for more action, heart, and car chases than you can imagine in the pages of Speed Racer!”
“I am grateful to Tatsunoko and Mad Cave for choosing me to draw this new run as the main artist,” said Davide Tinto. “It's amazing to be able to work on one of the longest-running, complex, and most exciting stories in entertainment, and I am very happy to have contributed to the aesthetics of this splendid new version of the Speed Racer universe. I can finally say that my name is on this great story that has been driving fans crazy and stimulating collective imaginations for over 50 years.”
Also included in Speed Racer #0 is a gritty backup story from Eisner-winning writer Mark Russell (The Flintstones, Superman: Space Age) and artist Chris Batista (Steel, Spaceknights), which sets the stage for Racer X, a four-issue noir miniseries launching this September.
“I’ve loved the Speed Racer cartoons since I was a kid,” said Mark Russell. “But as an adult, I feel like Racer X is the character who speaks to me the most. So while I'm thrilled to be working in a universe I've loved for so long, getting to write a character with the mystique and gravity of Racer X makes it a truly unique opportunity. I hope readers not only enjoy the new direction in which I'm taking Racer X, but sense the love and respect I have for the character as well.”
This isn’t a reboot. It’s a reinvention—one that honors the anime/manga roots of Mach GoGoGo while charting a cinematic new course through tactical racing, espionage, legacy, and redemption.
Whether you're a nostalgic fan of the Mach 5 or a newcomer seeking high-octane heart, this delivers a story that’s fast, furious, and emotionally resonant. It’s a generational torch-passing done right! Set in the neon-lit chaos of Palm City, Speed Racer #0—which also includes a special Racer X back-up story—is available at comic shops everywhere this Free Comic Book Day (May 3), and will continue with Speed Racer #1 on July 30, 2025.
