Psychic Investigators, Evil Exterminators, the debut graphic novel from cartoonist KT Healey, on September 16, 2025. This fast-paced, charming supernatural adventure finds Gabriel and his friends in search of ghosts, driven by the loss of his tía — a grief empowering him with the belief he has the ability to communicate with the dead. Psychic Investigators, Evil Exterminators uses high-energy cartooning and a light touch to tenderly explore how kids cope, even teaching grown-ups that those who are half as tall can be twice as wise.

Book Description
Gabriel Navarro can see ghosts. At least, that’s what he’s always believed, but after his beloved tía dies, he can’t seem to reach her. Feeling alone and lost, he stumbles into a mysterious encounter on a school field trip and suddenly finds himself the new best friend and business partner of his eccentric classmate Clementine.
Together, they form Psychic Investigators, Evil Exterminators—Rustin Middle School’s first ghost-hunting organization! Their mission statement? To prove once and for all that Gabe is a psychic and ghosts are real. But first, they’ll need to actually find some ghosts…which, despite Clem’s flawless business plan, is not easy. For Clem, the search is the thrill of a lifetime, but for Gabe, it hits a little closer to home. Can they keep their partnership together long enough to make a real connection to the world beyond?
Psychic Investigators, Evil Exterminators will be available wherever books are sold, as a full-color softcover graphic novel with flaps (ISBN: 9781603095648) as well as a digital edition, on September 16, 2025. For more information please visit the Top Shelf web site.

IDW Publishing’s Eisner-Nominated Cozy Horror Hit Series Returns In Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite Of Spring #1
It’s great to see the return of this series from IDW Publishing, and I am looking forward to checking this out.
After earning two prestigious Eisner nominations and being declared the “best indie comics success story” by Screen Rant, superstar creator Patrick Horvath’s delightfully twisted tale about an anthropomorphic serial killer bear is returning to comic shops for a new story that is guaranteed to shock readers.

Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated comics of 2025, BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES: RITE OF SPRING #1 (of 6) takes place almost a decade after the stunning and blood-spattered events of the first hit series. Return to the seemingly idealistic suburban town of Woodbrook as Samantha, the bloodlusting brown bear, got away with her crimes and is now the town’s one and only serial killer. But times have changed, and Samantha will soon discover there are no secrets in the age of the internet… and those who lost loved ones to her dark temptations are still searching for justice. Plus, Samantha’s sinister origin story is revealed as the sequel revisits what happened after her very first kill.
"I'm supremely excited to return to the quaint town of Woodbrook to continue the story of our psychopath bear, Samantha Strong,” remarked Horvath. “I continue to be blown away by the response to the first book. In my wildest dreams I never thought it would have caught such a huge wave that spread out to other countries and languages. BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES continues to be a huge gift to me, and I'm grateful for all of the immense support from IDW, the retailers, critics, and fans."
“Patrick Horvath is going to save comics – hell, he's already on his way,” stated editor Jake Williams. “BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES is the sort of shot in the arm that the industry prays for. A reminder of how good the medium can be. And here's a secret: we always knew we were doing more. Patrick introduced you to his world in part one – now it's time to plunge deeper into the darkness, expand out to the edges, and ultimately smash it all up. This one is darker, scarier, gorier, and maybe even a little bit cuter. Thank god for Patrick Horvath, we're lucky he chose to make comics.”
BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES: RITE OF SPRING #1 (of 6) is on sale July 9, 2025 with a pre-order deadline of June 2, 2025. In addition to primary covers by visionary creator Horvath, the series will feature movie homage variant covers by acclaimed creator Tony Fleecs (Stray Dogs), the return of storybook variants, with incredible artist Riley Rossmo (The Moon is Following Us) on the debut variant and awe-inspiring artist Elizabeth Beals (Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons) on issues #2-6. Plus: a debut issue variant cover by industry icon Skottie Young (I Hate Fairyland).

To survive the night, enemies must become allies…
Mad Cave Studios is thrilled to announce
BENEATH—a gritty new horror graphic novel from acclaimed showrunner and filmmaker Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil, Spartacus, Pacific Rim: Uprising) and celebrated comics artist Michael Gaydos (Alias, Jessica Jones), with letters by Toben Racicot. Originally released as a Comixology Original,
Beneath is a visceral story of survival, suspicion, and the terrifying unknown.

Deputy Sheriff Jess Delgado is tasked with transporting the sole survivor of a mysterious attack along the Texas-Mexico border to CoreCivil, a for-profit immigration detention center closing down due to widespread protests. Housing only a handful of remaining detainees and manned by a skeleton crew of disgruntled guards, the detention center becomes a desperate battleground when something otherworldly emerges from deep below the earth. Something that only fears the light. Deputy Delgado must pull together the guards and detainees—two groups that hate and fear each other—to survive the night. Or fall to the vengeance of the things that live Beneath.
"I could not be more excited for the paperback release of Beneath by our friends at Mad Cave,” said Steven DeKnight. “This is a story with a special place in my heart that unfortunately has once again become all too timely. The fact that I got to bring it to life with artist extraordinaire Michael Gaydos is truly a dream come true."
“This was my first foray in the horror comic genre and I couldn't have asked for a better writer and partner than the esteemed Steven S. DeKnight,” said Michael Gaydos. “I am extremely proud of this graphic novel and am so happy that it’s finally coming out in paperback. Many thanks to Mad Cave for making this a reality.”
“Beneath is a hard-hitting thriller with real social relevance,” said Mad Cave Studios editor Sarah Brunstad. “Gaydos brings his usual thoughtfulness and terrific intensity to DeKnight’s script, and the result is a top-notch package. We’re so excited here at Mad Cave to bring the print edition to the world.”
To survive the ultimate horror, they must confront what lurks below the surface. A definite on the pull list for those who love Something is Killing the Children, Infidel, Unearth, and The Walking Dead.
