Review: 2000 AD - Prog 2243
From Rebellion this week is Prog 2243 of 2000 AD - with Dredd, Skip Tracer, Sinister/Dexter and more...
Judge Dredd: Now That's What I Call Justice! by John Wagner (w) John Higgins (a) Sally Hurst (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
It's always interesting seeing Dredd investigate. Usually, you see him reacting, often quickly and violently. This issue shows the detective in him and I like the way it moves along. This looks like we're getting near the end of the story, next issue looks to have some answers.
Aquila: The Rivers of Hades, Book One by Gordon Rennie (w) Patrick Goddard (a) Dylan Teague (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Things continue to be grim and bloody here. I like the way this story moves on. There is a lot more enemies for Aquila. I do get the feeling he is going to get stabbed in the back soon...
Department K: Cosmic Chaos by Rory McConville (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Len O'Grady (c) Simon Bowland (l)
An interesting finish to the story, with some ramifications for the future. I like the way it all pans out, and there is still a little humour in there. Hopefully Department K will return soon.
Skip Tracer: Eden by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Dylan Teague (c) Jim Campbell (l)
A bit of a time jump here - not as much as it makes out at the beginning though. I like the twist here, and the threats being made. The child though may be the one that helps Nolan.
Dexter: Somewhere, Beyond The Sea by Dan Abnett (w) Tazio Bettin (a) John Charles (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Now we flip to see what the other half of the duo are up to. They have problems of their own though and it gets worse. I love the art and the build in this story (or stories) is very interesting!
