Here are my thoughts on this week’s 2000 AD from Rebellion.
UK and DIGITAL: 27 July 2022 £3.25
NORTH AMERICA: 24 August $22.99 (per pack)
DIAMOND: JUL221851
COVER: CLIFF ROBINSON (A) DYLAN TEAGUE (C)
Judge Dredd: Special Relationship by Rob Williams (w) Patrick Goddard (a) Quinton Winter (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
There are some interesting aspects to this crisis, and it does look like there are some extra interested parties. This is away from the action in the Black Atlantic too. I like how this is being played out and wonder where it will lead.
Skip Tracer: Valhalla by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Dylan Teague (c) Simon Bowland (l)
A noble sacrifice with an interesting twist. I like the zombie feel to this story, very Dawn of the Dead. The odds are already stacked against them…
Dexter - Bulletopia: Malice In Plunderland by Dan Abnett (w) Tazio Bettin (a) Matt Soffe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
I’m enjoying this story, and Dexter’s plan looks to go south. Nevertheless, the twists keep coming, and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Brink: Mercury Retrograde by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
A lot of talking heads in this issue. And there is a lot to take in. It does drive the plot, though and we seem to be getting towards the endgame. That final panel is pretty sinister and well done.
Jaegir: Ferox by Gordon Rennie (w) Simon Coleby (a) Len O'Grady (c) Jim Campbell (l)
We’re still learning in this issue, but it is good to see a GI. The location is interesting and adds a new dimension to it all. Jaegir may not be in as much control as she thinks!
