Cadet Dredd: Undertow by Pauk Starkey (w) Silvia Califano, Gary Welsh (a) John Charles (c) Annie Parkhouse
This was a good adventure, and I enjoyed how it all worked out. The action was good, with some novel uses of weapons. The ending was a little soft, but it had some good build. The differences between Dredd & Rico are showing here.
Bladers by James Peaty (w) Leigh Gallagher (a) Jim Campbell (l)
This was interesting. A violent sport with some underdogs. I like the way it all panned out and enjoyed the action. Hopefully, we will see more of these.
Ulysses Sweet: Psychobaby by Guy Adams (w) Paul Marshall (a) Dylan Teague (c) Jim Campbell (l)
This is different! With some classic two-page spreads and zany fun. This took me back to the more anarchistic strips I used to read - the art style too!
Future Shocks: The Planet Breakers by Karl Stock (w) Karl Richardson (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This was a deep read - and something well played out. I liked the premise, and the finish was more of a shock to make you think. It had some excellent art and a great concept.
Chopper: All For One by David Barnett (w) Gary Welsh (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Simon Bowland (l)
A good follow-up from the previous young Chopper story. I like the Chekov gag here too. It has some good action flying through the streets, and it looks like there will be more to come!
