Review: 2000 AD - Prog 2327
The latest issue from Rebellion
It’s that time again, and the latest issue of 2000 AD from Rebellion is out now - here are my thoughts on Prog 2327.
UK and DIGITAL: 12 April £3.50
NORTH AMERICA: 5 July 2024 $27.50 (per pack)
COVER: SIMON DAVIS
Judge Dredd: Down By Law by Ian Edginton (w) Leigh Gallagher (a) Peter Doherty (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This had the feel of a classic Dredd story, with murder, old people and a good investigation. It was refreshing after some of the bigger stories and made me smile.
Durham Red: Mad Dogs by Alec Worley (w) Ben Willsher (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Durham Red gets some background and why she has been chosen for this job. The connection is interesting, as it is the add-on she is bringing with her. I think there is more to this than meets the eye.
The Order: Heart of Darkness by Kek-W (w) John Burns (a) Jim Campbell (l)
An expected turn, but it plays out well. Some good battles are going on right now, which was well done.
Enemy Earth: Book Two by Cavan Scott (w) Luke Horsman (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Out of the frying pan…
This was a good issue and moves the story on well. There is a sense of urgency here; I like how it plays out. I can’t see how this ends well, though!
Rogue Trooper: Blighty Valley by Garth Ennis (w) Patrick Goddard (a) Rob Steen (l)
An excellent issue, with some good commentary from both the human and Blue sides. There is some decent action, but not what we are used to. The use of the tech and the commentary on the war and old weapons was well done too.
