Judge Dredd: Poison by Rob Williams (w) PJ Holden (a) Peter Doherty (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Another change of location, and we’ve got a bit of cold-war spying to enjoy. This has added a new dimension to the story, and I like Dredd’s reasoning. The twist at the end was nice too.
Helium: Scorched Earth by Ian Edginton (w) D'Israeli (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Some frantic running and banter here. I like the change in location and the whole feel of this part of the story. From the finish of this issue, it looks like things will move on pretty quickly, too. No political intrigue here, though.
The Devil's Railroad by Peter Milligan (w) Rufus Dayglo (a) Jose Villarrubia (c) Jim Campbell (l)
Whew! That was a mad read, and I was totally into it here. We get some good alien aspects and more problems added onto the whole story. The cramped feeling was well done, and I loved the art and colours.
The Fall of Deadworld: Retribution by Kek-W (w) Dave Kendall (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Things are going from bad to worse with the loss of a mainstay. No time to mourn, though, as there is another problem. This, so far, has been quite tight in the location, but it looks like it will be out in the open. I love the colouring in this issue.
Feral & Foe: Bad Godesberg by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a) Jim Campbell (l)
Things are going bad here, but I love the lore that is being told. There is a good mix of humour, threat and action, and the final panels of this issue are particularly haunting.
