JUDGE DREDD // MACHINE RULE by John Wagner (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
There are some exciting twists here, and I like the logic behind it. The other Judges seem to be catching on, and there will be a bit of a fightback.
ROGUE TROOPER // RECON by Geoffrey D. Wessel (w) Paul Marshall (a) Pippa Bowland (c) Jim Campbell (l)
It is an enjoyable finish to the arc, with a possible tease of something else. I like the suspicious monologue at the end and how that links into the larger arc of the Rogue Trooper story.
BRINK // CONSUMED by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
More background and twists that link to the larger sect story as well as the more immediate issues. This could feel ‘talk-heavy’, but it is gripping, and the lack of trust is still there.
HERNE & SHUCK // SUFFER THE CHILDREN by David Barnett (w) Lee Milmore (a) Quinton Winter (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
There is some excellent action here; I like how it plays out. This story has more to come, and I like how it keeps layering on more issues. The character moments are well-played and amusing, too.
SILVER // UNEARTHED by Mike Carroll (w) Joe Currie (a) Simon Bowland (l)
An action-packed issue and we seem to be getting closer to the crux of the story. I worry that it is dragging too slowly at this beginning aspect, but it’s an easy read and enjoyable.
