JUDGE DREDD // SOFT by Rob Williams & Arthur Wyatt (w) Jake Lynch (a) Matt Soffe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
An interesting beginning to a new arc. It looks like the past is catching up with Dredd, and I look forward to seeing how he fights back. The accusation of him going soft is a good one, and I think that they are making some bad assumptions.
FIENDS OF THE WESTERN FRONT // WILDE WEST by Ian Edginton (w) Tiernen Trevallion (a) Jim Campbell (l)
Out in the wild west, we get a fair amount of action - in flashback - as well as the reasons for this quest. I like the interactions between the characers here, there is a strange relationship!
PORTALS & BLACK GOO // A QUORUM OF FIENDS by John Tomlinson (w) Eoin Coveney (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Not only the political aspects, but there is something else off in this world. Some sort of disease? Nevertheless, this was a good issue with plenty going on. I like some of the dark humour thrown in here too.
THE OUT // BOOK FOUR by Dan Abnett (w) Mark Harrison (a) Simon Bowland (l)
A really creepy missing persons case. There is some excellent use of dark and colour here, and it adds to the tone of the story.
HAWK THE SLAYER // THE LAST OF HER KIND by Alec Worley (w) Simon Coleby (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Hawk gets an idea what this kingdom is all about. We get a small amount of action and a good idea what is wrong ourselves. I like the use of the villagers and look forward to seeing more of this.
