JUDGE DREDD // SHIFT by Ken Niemand (w) Nick Percival (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
The horror aspect is really ramping up here. I like Dredd’s internal monologue here. The artwork is excellent, and I loved the cliffhanger to this issue.
FULL TILT BOOGIE // BOOK THREE by Alex de Campi (w) Eduardo Ocana (a) Giulia Brusco (a) Simon Bowland (l)
We get away from one cliffhanger and it’s moving the story on well, while also adding in an additional threat as we move forward. I enjoy the style of art and some of the designs in this story.
PORTALS & BLACK GOO // A QUORUM OF FIENDS by John Tomlinson (w) Eoin Coveney (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)
The combinations of the different characters here, and I like the way these different threads are getting closer and closer. There is some dark humour here.
HAWK THE SLAYER // THE LAST OF HER KIND by Alec Worley (w) Simon Coleby (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Some game here, and it looks like we are getting to the bottom of it all. I like the intreague and look for answers as to why and the how this all came about.
FIENDS OF THE WESTERN FRONT // WILDE WEST by Ian Edginton (w) Tiernen Trevallion (a) Jim Campbell (l)
This mini-arc builds on the characters and shows some brains in battle - very useful. I like how is plays out and the reaction shots are excellent.
