JUDGE DREDD // BLITZERS by Ken Niemand (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Dylan Teague (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A bitter ending to the tale, but it helps to re-establish the style of the comic, the characters (specifically Dredd) and the city itself. This sort of story is needed every so often to show how bleak it can be.
CHIMPSKY’S LAW // THE TRUTH CONUNDRUM by Ken Niemand (w) PJ Holden (a) Jack Davies (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A fun and action-packed finish to the story with Chimpsky getting out of the way and finding some time to reflect. This is easily a story that can be returned to at some point, and it’s always great to see Chimpsky.
SILVER // PERFIDIOUS by Mike Carroll (w) Joe Currie (a) Simon Bowland (l)
This attack doesn’t look like it will be as easy as first thought. With a suitable foil for Silver, this looks to be a harder attack. I like the artwork and the way the story was told in this issue, with things looking bad at the end…
GHOSTED // BOOK ONE by Guy Adams (w) Megan Huang (a) Simon Bowland (l)
We start to get to the bottom of it all. The mystery attack and the use of those of a lower social class is bleak, but it seems like there is an interesting link. The way the story was told in this issue fills in a lot of the blanks and is well told and has some clever art.
ROGUE TROOPER // TIDES OF WAR by Andi Ewington (w) Paul Marshall (a) Pippa Bowland (c) Jim Campbell (l)
I loved the use of the hallucinations to drive aspects of this story forward. The GI is slightly out of his comfort zone on a boat and in charge of a crew, but he is making the best of it.
