Another done-in-one story for Dredd, and he takes a minimal role. This is more about another side of the citizens. I like how it all played out and it felt like a Future Shock storyline, but it did fit so well in Mega City One.

The horrors of the war come home here and it shows up in this issue. From last issue we kind of expected it, and there is a big job for Rogue Trooper and his crew.

This is getting pretty tense. We are learning more about the world in which this is set, while watching the escape from this pretty relentless and crazy foe. There hasn’t even been any interaction between them yet, but it looks like we are getting close!

More history is provided in the background while the attack is going on. I like this look into the camps and the reasoning behind it all. There must be more vampires out there, and I wonder if they will make an appearance?
SCARLET TRACES // EMPIRE OF BLOOD by Ian Edginton (w) D'Israeli (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A little tremor of action here, but mostly this issue is all about the setup. An investigation is to be conducted, which is linked to the theft of the last issue. We know what happened there, but there is more to tell. Meanwhile, there is politics to deal with on two fronts - one is potentially upset, while the other is making more devious plans!
