Three stories in this issue, concluding for next week’s ‘jumping-on’ issue!
JUDGE DREDD // TUNNELS by Rob Williams (w) RM Guera (a) Giulia Brusco (c) Jim Campbell (l)
There's some classic Dredd here. The action is tight and well-plotted, and I like the very minimalistic style of speaking in this issue. It gets right to the point and has a real spaghetti western ending feel to it all.
THE RAVILIOUS PACT by T.C.Eglington (w) Steven Austin (a) John Charles (c) Simon Bowland (l)
There's a dark finish here and a nice twist. Will we see more of this? That would be interesting, as the setting of this story is pretty unique. It got me taking pictures of the pages and flipping them again! I loved the story, and the ending was cleverly crafted.
SCARLET TRACES // EMPIRE OF BLOOD by Ian Edginton (w) D'Israeli (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
An ending, but not the ending! There is a lot to take in here, even with the wrapping-up part. That is for the future of this story and adds a little mystery and puts the players on a larger board. The repatriation was a little cheeky, but works well in establishing the tone of some characters.
