New stories begin in this jumping-on issue of 2000 AD.
JUDGE DREDD // AND TO THE SEA RETURN by Rob Williams (w) Henry Flint (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Somewhere for Dredd to go away from the city. These trips are often eye-opening, and I expect this one will be too. I like the build-up and the colouring works well with the artwork.
BRASS SUN // PAVANE by Ian Edginton (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Along with the introduction, the storytelling aspect of this story fits right in. Some clever artwork to the final reveal and some interesting-looking characters too. This was slower, but it sets things up nicely.
ANDERSON, PSI-DIVISION // FLOWERS OF EVIL by Alex de Campi (w) Rob Richardson (a) Simon Bowland (l)
PJ Maybe continues to cause trouble! This time, it's for Anderson, and there is an interesting twist with the droids. There is something a little deeper here, and I like how the gas aspect played out.
THISTLEBONE // THE VOICE IN THE HOLLOW by T.C. Eglington (w) Simon Davis (a)
This is some dark prose continuing the Thristlebone myths. I liked how it was told, and the style of it all felt like classic folklore.
VOID RUNNERS // BOOK TWO by David Hine (w) Boo Cook (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Void Runners return and this planet looks ripe for an itneresting adventure. Two factions on planet and two arriving. Both with different ideas of greeting the locals. Dark in some places and soft in others.
ROGUE TROOPER // GHOST PATROL by Alex de Campi (w) Neil Edwards (a) Matt Soffe (c) Jim Campbell (l)
This looks like it will be an interesting story that delves deeper into Nu-Earth. It will take a look at those outside of the war (for now). I suspect I know where Rogue will fit in here, but I may be wrong!
