JUDGE DREDD // AND TO THE SEA RETURN by Rob Williams (w) Henry Flint (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
We seem to be getting closer to discovering what is going on here, with some excellent action and character moments. I want to see what the main villain is up to and how this pans out. Dredd has a great ‘Dredd’ moment on his return!
RED DRAGON by Rob Williams (w) Steve Yeowell & Patrick Goddard (a) Dylan Teague (c) Simon Bowland (l)
This is a clever round-up of Red Dragon in his hometown and now, where things are going on, but slowly drawing out. The mix between them and now is getting closer, and the interaction with the rest of Cloud 9 was well done.
BRASS SUN // PAVANE by Ian Edginton (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
A very dark tone in this issue, with the inquistors looking for more in a nasty way. I like the facial reactions to this and there is a dark aspect to what is happening on these worlds.
VOID RUNNERS // BOOK TWO by David Hine (w) Boo Cook (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This was a manic issue, with the use of dust causing no end of problems. It looks like there is going to be some interesting action in the next issue, and I’m looking forward to that. The mix of humour and more serious matters is well crafted.
ROGUE TROOPER // GHOST PATROL by Alex de Campi (w) Neil Edwards (a) Matt Soffe (c) Jim Campbell (l)
Of course, things are not always what they seem! This is a nice twist that continues with the appearance of the Rogue Trooper and more mentions of the traitor general. I like the use of the lower ranks, and it looks like we’re getting a squad together!
