Review: 2000 AD - Prog 2464
From Rebellion
New year and new stories in 2000 AD - Prog 2464 from Rebellion.
JUDGE DREDD // DEATH OF A JUDGE by John Wagner (w) Mike Perkins (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A new story arc begins here, and there are changes afoot. I like how it links to some previous stories and Dredd’s reaction to all of this. There is some striking art, too!
HERNE & SHUCK // POWER TRIP by David Barnett (w) Lee Milmore (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
The quest begins, and this has a decent amount of humour, it gives me a more light-hearted feel of Luke Kirby. I like the mythology and the limits set upon Herne here.
AZIMUTH // CORNERED by Dan Abnett (w) Tazio Bettin (a) Matt Soffe (c) Jim Campell (l)
A good setup for the problems within here. I like the new story and the way it is set up. That final panel is pretty chilling and has got me hooked into this arc.
THE DISCARDED by Peter Milligan (w) Kieran McKeown (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)
After the setup, this part continues with the potential foes. I like how this is leading to a big confrontation and the use of the AI. There are some interesting characters here, and I like the sci-fi elements.
YOUNG DEATH // THE DEAL by Kek-W (w) Mike Dowling (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Another look at the monster growing up. I like the potential new Dark Judges coming in, Young Death’s plans, and how he gets his information. I wonder if this will continue along the theme.
