JUDGE DREDD // DEATH OF A JUDGE by John Wagner (w) Mike Perkins (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
There’s the reintroduction of the Mechs, but there is also something else going on. Dredd is involved, and there is a big bang at the end of this issue. Some good looks at the other levels of Judges,s too.
HERNE & SHUCK // POWER TRIP by David Barnett (w) Lee Milmore (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This is really enjoyable, and I love the tone and the different characters we are going to meet along the way. There is some good humour here too.
AZIMUTH // CORNERED by Dan Abnett (w) Tazio Bettin (a) Matt Soffe (c) Jim Campell (l)
There’s a plan here, and some answers are worked out. I like the feeling of the labyrinth and how they react when they are alone.
THE DISCARDED by Peter Milligan (w) Kieran McKeown (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Is it me, or does Veera not come across well? I think that is the plan, and her look at those who have been dumped here is interesting, as is her attitude.
YOUNG DEATH // FITTING IN by Kek-W (w) Tom Foster (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A dark tale, with many nods to the future of the young Judge Death. It’s grim, but fitting and a well-told twisted side of the Judges in this other realm.
