JUDGE DREDD // THE OUBLIETTE by Ken Niemand (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
An interesting issue, showing that the quest isn’t all cut and dry, but there is some learning to it. The artwork continues to be excellent, giving us something very different to what we are used to in Judge Dredd.
BRINK // THE CALL OF THE VOID by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
All the redactions can be annoying here, but there is some great dialogue once you get through it all. The story is delving deeper and there is the obvious threat and the mysterious one.
THISTLEBONE // THE WILD MAIDEN & THE FAIR WOLF by T.C. Eglington (w) Simon Davis (a)
A unique piece of prose that keeps Thistlebone fresh in your head while adding something different to the anthology. I like the art that goes with it and the tale being told.
JUDGE DEE by Ben Wheatley (w) Simon Coleby (a) Jack Davies (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Finishing off this storyline, with some big panels and some splendid Psi work in the story. I like the ending, and it adds some mystery to the tale and Judge Dee’s character.
THE FALL OF DEADWORLD // JUSTICE by Kek-W (w) Dave Kendall (a) Simon Bowland (l)
We’re back at Deadworld and this starts us off slow, but it looks like there will be a lot to come. I like how the characters are being used in this story and the style of art fits perfectly.
HELIUM // RED OCTOBER by Ian Edginton (w) D’Israeli (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Finishing off this arc well, we get some great panels of the world and some shocking action. I like how this is shown, and we are now getting close to the end goal of the beginning of the story.
