Cooley's Gun by Garth Ennis (w) Staz Johnson (a) Len O’Grady (c) Rob Steen (l)
This was a dark story - and full of interesting facts. The location is interesting and non-traditional, and it really drives home this aspect of the war. I like the narrator - and this seems normal for these types of stories, but he is slightly removed from the main character(s). The comment at the end made me smile too. The action was down and dirty, and the differences between the two guns featured were well played out.
Death Squad by Rob Williams (w) PJ Holden (a) Rob Steen (l)
This was also a dark story, but it seems a little more comedic. In a way, it’s a tough read - you are rooting for the traditional bad guys. When you get past that, though, it’s a fun, action-packed story - even if the twist was obvious. I liked how it pans out, though and there are some good insights into the various characters.
