What next for the cuddly serial killer after the first issue’s big reveal? Out now is Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees #2 from IDW Publishing.
Horrified to learn that she’s not the only serial killer in Woodbrook-and insulted, frankly, by the rookie’s flare for the dramatic-Samantha hits the pavement to silence the competition before they ruin her quiet, perfectly curated life.
But the insufferable latte-chugging local busybody Cherry Gherkins is poisoning the town with her own theories about the murder, and things are about to get messy. Grab a cup of cocoa and curl up with the second chapter of Patrick Horvath’s twisted tale of a cozy animal community in crisis!

After the first issue, we somehow found ourselves rooting for the serial killer we know.
After the end of the last issue, there is someone else - someone killing the residents of the sleepy town. And in a most gruesome way. We get introduced to more residents too - the sleepy chief of police is doing his best, but are there those who are unimpressed with his efforts.
The main one being is Cherry Gherkins, who has been very vocal about the police efforts in this investigation and also has differing ideas on the validity of the curfew that has been put into place. Her run-in with Samantha may cause more trouble in the long run for our known killer, as there is an interesting confrontation there.
The conclusion of this issue was obvious in coming, but the method was pretty shocking, and I can imagine the reaction of the townsfolk in the next issue. This is really ramping up the body count. Nevertheless, we are getting some interesting clues.
I love this story, and the watercolour effect art is a brilliant juxtaposition to the story being told.
