Out now in print and hopefully coming soon digitally on GlobalComix is Beyond the Quantum: An Existential Crisis in 5 Acts from Literati Press.
Beyond the Quantum: An Existential Crisis in 5 Acts is 30 mind-expanding illustrations wrapped in a narrative that stares into the abyss and calls its bluff.
A genre-bending cult classic in the making, this collaboration brought together poet Angie LaPaglia and illustrator Dorshak Blok to examine a life not of our choosing.

In this case, genre-bending is a very apt description of this book.
Not knowing what to expect when I jumped in1, this really caught me out.
Straight from the start, I was taken in by the excellent artwork on show, with some well-laid-out pages. The artwork initially seems very easy on the eye, but as you delve into it, there is much more to take in than you would initially expect. Some very clever colour choices contrast nicely with the lighter backgrounds of the page, simultaneously making the pages clean and busy. The characters' designs are well done and unique and have some very clever poses and styles.
The story itself is also a work of art. Part narrative, part poem, it takes us on a fantastic journey with a cast of fantastic characters to go with the art. Each page only features a few lines of text, but the beautiful way they are presented and the movement of it all makes this a wonderful yarn. The addition of some more modern slang/words adds to the story and makes me grin.
It's an amazing read and worthy of any bookshelf.
