Review: Big Game #3

From Image Comics, and out today is the midway point of Big Game! This big multi-crossover story from the Millarworld continues, and the action is non-stop! Check out my thoughts here.
Nemesis is murdering his way through all your favorite Millarworld characters. The Chrononauts are down, but now Kick-Ass, Hit-Girl, and Huck are in his sights. Will the Kingsman spy organization be able to stop him before he follows through on his master's wishes to wipe every single super off the face of the Earth?

OK, so I sort of suspected that this issue may mellow slightly as we get to the mid point of this story arc.
But no.
Five key characters take a hit here, with some big names being taken off the board. Admittedly, this is well plotted, and the ways and means are well played out. Suited for the character who is taken out, and with extreme prejudice.
No, I’m not going to tell you who.
But, with the first death, there is a certain degree of collateral damage which is a little upsetting. If you’re reading it you will know, and if not, you will probably never guess!
Nevertheless, there is some excellent deaths here. Four out of the five was a direct result of the schemes happening, and the fifth is a regrettable death, but one that would have been a planned one in the long run anyway. As the story progresses though, there is an interesting side, with Kick-Ass being involved. I’m still not sure where he will fit into all of this, and the slow build of his involvement is interesting and has some sweet character moments.
There is a survivor though, and how this fits into the main story is kind of suspected, but we are still to get there and how it will all fit in.
There is a nice cameo in the story, and I did wonder where they are. I wonder if they will fit into the end of the story, and, if so, we may get a little magic!
This is good fun to watch, and I enjoy the story - I’m looking forward to the penultimate issue, as that’s where the fun should be…
