Follow a beautifully tattooed barista named Amarella across four vignettes that are blended through this slice-of-life comic book set in a coffee shop with a cyberpunk backdrop. These robust tales will warm your heart like a fresh batch of java poured into your favorite morning mug. Step inside and enjoy!
This was a delightful read. The story revolves around a cyberpunk coffee shop, with the barista, Amarella, as the focal point. We get an excellent day-in-the-life of the coffee shop's goings-on and clientele.
It starts off quiet enough, with the customer looking like he is in a bad way. However, the result of his meeting with those he is waiting for makes things look up for him in the future.
At the drive-thru, there are some excellent examples of how good (and less so) people can be, and this section makes for an amusing read. It includes a nice part that links to the end of the story.
After a short break, which slows the pace nicely and makes for a pleasant read, we get to the final part, which makes you think that this day is going to end badly—quite the opposite, in fact.
I loved the art style in this story. With soft lines and some brilliant tones, it juxtaposes excellently with the cyberpunk setting, and the characters' and cameos' facial reactions are brilliant.
This was a thought-provoking read and one worth reading again!
