Out this week is a new team up from Zenescope Entertainment. It’s a Fairy Tale Team-Up: Robyn Hood & Jasmine, and check out my thoughts below.
A former genie who freed herself from bondage, the fire-dagger-wielding femme fatale known as Jasmine has been on an epic journey in the world of the djinn, fighting oppression and helping those in need in this desert wasteland. But when she encounters an opponent who threatens to destroy this realm and those beyond, Jasmine enlists the aid of an unlikely ally -- New York’s most notorious protector, Robyn Hood!

I have to be honest. I had forgotten about Jasmine as a character in the Grimm Universe. I suppose that is where this is a good issue. Bringing characters back into the fold and building on their stories.
Teaming up with Robyn is a good idea, and although the meeting felt like a bit of a stretch, it’s always good to see characters outside of their comfort zones.
In this case, Robyn is transported into a vastly different land than New York. Her team-up with Jasmine works well for both characters as both have good time to shine and character moments.
As the story progresses, new (or lapsed) readers are well-introduced to Jasmine, her powers, and what she is doing now. As a Djinn, there are some weaknesses, and they are played well.
I like the pacing of this story. The big bad gets some good comeuppance here, with some excellent action sequences that are logical and work well in the story.
There are some hints towards the future for Jasmine, and hopefully they can be built upon in the future.
I've never read any of the Zenescope stuff. It always looks interesting, but I've just never picked up an issue. By your review I'm guessing they are fairly decent? Any recommendations of where to start?
