This issue was a game-changer for the Grimm Universe—without question, one of those rare moments that completely shifts the status quo. For so long, there’s always been that lingering thought: “Are these major shake-ups really going to stick? Or will they find some clever loophole to undo them?” Well, this issue puts that doubt to rest. What happens here has real weight and lasting consequences, making everything as we advance feel more unpredictable—and honestly, way more exciting.
The pacing was spot-on. There’s a ton of action crammed into these pages, with epic battles against doppelgangers from alternate timelines, returning villains, and even Father Time himself. But what impressed me was how it balanced those big, chaotic fights with slower, more emotional beats near the end. Those quieter moments gave the story breathing room and made the impact of the twists land even harder. It never dragged; instead, it felt like a perfectly executed rollercoaster.
(And to point out —don’t let the cover fool you, it has nothing to do with what actually happens in the story. Classic bait, but in this case, the content inside more than delivers.)
As predicted, Robyn plays a bigger role in the conclusion of this arc, and her status as that unpredictable “wild card” works really well here. I especially liked how her dynamic with Skye continues to evolve; it adds a layer of tension and heart to the chaos swirling around them.
What surprised me is how much collateral damage the story leaves behind. This isn’t one of those neat, tied-up-with-a-bow endings. No, much of what went down stays broken, leaving the survivors facing bigger, denser threats with less room to breathe. The idea of evil being less scattered and more concentrated is terrifying and thrilling—it’s precisely the kind of setup that makes me eager to see where things go next.
Grimm Fairy Tales marches forward, but there’s no going back after this issue. The board has been reset, the pieces have shifted, and the stakes feel higher than ever. If this arc was meant to set the stage for a bold new chapter, then mission accomplished
