Review: Grimm Fairy Tales #55
The cross-dimension adventures continue in Grimm Fairy Tales #55 from Zenescope Entertainment.
Taking over after the death of her mother, Sela, Skye Mathers is the new Guardian of the Nexus. With the help of Shang, her mentor, and her friends at Arcane Acre, she is learning the extent of her new powers and trying to figure out her place in protecting the universe.
A new threat has risen, The Dark Princess, a tyrant that has broken free from a crumbling universe not much different than ours. Along with her generals, The Swarm, she began her assault on the Nexus by expelling Skye, Shang and their allies, scattering them across the realms.
Now they are desperately trying to find their way back to Arcane Acre to stand up to the Dark Princess before it’s too late.Writer: Dave Franchini

Moving on this large story arc, we are now in a new dimension. What is cunning is that the route home for our heroes is plotted out, but there are some bumps along the way.
At this point, Skye is now in a new dimension. Away from the future tech versions of themselves, they now find themselves in a prohibition-style world. Their first meeting is with 'Blue' who is this universes version of Belle.
Things jump right in, with an attack, after which there are some explanations of what the stakes are and how it is all going. It's well done, with a new style for us to get used to. The advantage being is that these worlds can be used in the future.
Shang and co have their own quest, and we discover part of why the Dodo egg is needed, but we are yet to get it all. Shang seems to be hiding something, but we don't know what yet.
I also like that we get a look at the situation for the Dark Princess - she seems to be planning more and has her endgame in mind, but I am glad she isn't forgotten.
The following issues should be interesting as the story is spread across these characters, and I look forward to it moving forward.
The art continues well, with some excellent styles in Blue's world.
