From Zenescope
The Witching Hour
New from Zenescope Entertainment and out now in print and digital formats is Grimm Fairy Tales #98.
As the dust settles from their last battle, Skye and her team race against time to stop Father Time’s growing influence. Their quest for the legendary Tablet of Destinies leads them to Oz, but political tensions and hidden dangers force them into an uneasy alliance with Dorothy and her allies — while a new, ominous player emerges with the power to challenge time itself.

I found the beginning of this issue a little slow, which is odd as it was full of excellent action, with the various types of magic being used. In fact, throughout the issue, the use of colour for the different magic users was well played out with yellow, red, blue and green. I liked the distinction, and it makes the action easier to follow.
After the initial battle, though, things move pretty quickly, and this does a good job of moving the story along and the fightback against a seemingly all-powerful entity.
Of course, there needs to be a chance, and this issue is being mapped out. Shang has a plan, and the use of the chess analogy is interesting, although I wonder if that means some pawns will need to be sacrificed?
This issue does an excellent job of combining some actions, building the story, and leading to future problems. With some teasers to come soon. There is a good aspect where the teams are split, making tracking the characters and who is doing what easier.
Let’s see what happens in Oz soon!
